Man... how much would all of you love to see Armageddon happening in the form of an all-out war between Humans (Terrans, Juggernauts, Necris), Robots (Axon, Strogg, Cryon), and Aliens (Skaarj, Skrith, Krao)!?

Why do you think that trade equals greed? Obtaining necessities is survival. There is nothing greedy in exchanging a necessity that you have plenty of for one that you don't. If you do this, you have participated in an economy.

In our intended game, a multiplayer sorta thing, with Terrans, and we are hopefully going to add some sorta Skrith or Cryon somethign as the opposition.. I'll not divulge too many details, but getting the equipment you need, is going to be a major part.. Supply drops, convoys, byuing, selling, and outpost that give funds.. Handling equipment and managing you credits is gonna count!! You'll be able to do and acquire some truely awesome things (if all goes well).

Onto Curse.. Armour for them, is poor.. The Curse are completely expendable, and are trained only slightly, (if at all).. Weapons and such they are outfitted with initially, like a B1 Possum, or other cheap weapons.. If they lose that, they could very well be on their own.. Trying to get their hands on anything, or just going AWOL.. Curse suck, bottom line.. Useless hordes of desperate humans, nad sometimes OutWorld aliens.. Skrith and Terrans hire them out, for "diversionary" purposes.. No one uses Curse for proper missions, where damage needs to be done.. used only to bolster ranks for head-on attacks, or decoys.. whatever.. They'll run away during fights, shoot each other, get drunk, etc They may or may not be used as Cryon and Skrith experiments

Battles will generally stay away from Earth.. He who controls the OutWorld has a vastly greater chance at either defending, or attacking Earth..

Space battles, though always there, will not a huge part of PA.. Skrith and Terrans both have their own crafts, and battle endlessy wherever they are.. Mainly stuff happens on the ground, coz ground and vehicle battles are just so much sweeter

That is where we intend to focus our game, battle mechanics! (i think).. You'll have endless choices, weapons, vehicles, attachements, items, outpost and everything available, that battles will occur over massive maps, with many players.. Satellites, artillery, air-drops, repair docks, huge vehicles, small vehicles, mechs, aircraft, many outposts, with diffirent things they can do or enable for teams..
We intend the battles of our game, to really be awesome, with all this equipment, and strategies available, the war could go on for hours..

Now, I take it Curse wouldn't be playable then...? Seems like it might be kinda fun playing a mission where your group maybe is fighting (more like just feeding) the Krao, with large numbers on both sides, Curse using whatever melee weapon they can find, you leading the charge, knowing your men won't survive the battle, but also knowing that some good could come out these men's lives from delaying the Krao, not that they would care...

Or perhaps you were on one of the Curse prison ships, being shipped off for experiments, while in typical FPS fashion you break free (budget was cut short on the inmate holding equipment ) and possibly a few others if playing coop, and a whole story could arc from that, giving you a great start for a SP (or Coop) adventure.

Or maybe you were thrown on a Curse ship programmed to crash on a world with the human labs, which was previously home to a huge terran military outpost that was later converted to the aliens' testing grounds for their newfound cattle.

Are there any outworld merc factions or something that might pose a threat to skrith? Or are you pretty much stuck to using UTC forces?

Also, could you tell a little bit more on how the UTC works? Are they highly organized or do they form their own factions? Do they go back for wounded soldiers/civilians? Do they count captured soldiers as dead? Do they consider their captured troops as a liabilty and/or a possible compromise in UTC security?

How concerned are they over collateral damage? Are they fighting for the majority of the human race, or for the people being directly attacked too? To rephrase, are they sent on missions merely to save a source of supplies and income critical to UTC's survival, or to save innocent lives?

What about planets the UTC can't/won't make it to? Are there any merc factions that might be around to help them out, albeit for a price? How do the inhabitants react to invasions? Do they generally sit there and hope help arrives, or do they take up arms and kick some alien ass? Or do some consort to traitorius deeds and give info/tech to the enemies in a futile attempt to acquire their favor?

How loyal are the outworlders to the UTC? Does the UTC merely view them as a resource or as actual people? Do the outworlders view the UTC as hope for the terran race, or merely an emotionless government that has no concern for the working class? Do they treat the soldiers with respect, or scorn? Are they welcome on the planets, or do they feel like they are merely there for impirical reasons?

As for acquiring resources and supplies for the actual game, is pirating going to be an option? In exchange for money, you could acquire the supplies at a large risk of loss of men, ammo, and possible mission failure.

For example: a Terran player runs into a group of Skrith players talking about their strategies, but all the Terran player hears are a bunch of gibberish...

In the PA universe, what has become of global warming? Did everyone ended up using Hydrogen powered fuel cell cars and such, or is Earth a barren desert due to influx of heat?

Global warming is a part of earth's constantly changing weather system, why do you think ice ages and heat periods have been coming and going for billions of years?

I personally think that the current theories of scientists is pure political bullshit.

So I think the earth should be in either of those eras in PA; ice age or not.

Earth would be, at least how I'm imagining this universe, to be bright, sunny, clean, and full of secret political wars.

They send all the lesser people off to work in distant planets, while the rich stay and live a plush life where they can afford ways to cut down the pollution for their planet.

Judging by the human's aggressive nature, I doubt the earth will be in that state in the distant future.

Not necessarily, there are many ways where the richer ones just could send everyone else off to the stars, pretty much weed out the "inferior" ones on earth and leave it to those who they feel wouldn't be "bad elements".

While violence and such could very well be cut down, there still would be lots of blackmailing; assassinations; sneaky, underhanded stuffs; and all sorts of things happening quietly, letting the aggressive nature seep outwards, in a more controlled, less noticed form.

Plus I think SB made mention of the "cleaner" UTC core, although I may be taking this interpretation a bit too literal, must see what SB has to say.
