As a 4th melee weapon, I think the sledge hammer would be the best candidate for one. We need a weapon that's slow, heavy, BUT can take out almost, if not, all health in a nice, held-back swing. Plus it can cause a swift momentum change (knockback). That'd be fun to watch, and would be my melee weapon of choice (as the bots seem to do a LOT better with bladed weapons than I =|)

I like it; it'd be much like a warhammer, but more likely to actually be manufactured in BW's timeframe. Since it would be too heavy to move fast enough to block with realistically and throwing it wouldn't be a practical option either, the special function could be removing or attaching the head; without the head, it's a wrecking crowbar- a bit faster but doesn't hit as hard, kinda like katana but more brutish in style. Secondary for sledgehammer mode could be an overhead smash for instant kill, but it's even slower and harder to connect. For crowbar mode it could be a jab with the forked end. Geeze, I creep myself out sometimes... :sick:

Well, if bots 0wn j00 with blades, they would probably 0wn j00 with the hammer too. The anims may be different, but it's the same basic principle. Practice is the only thing that helps; I used to suck with the blades as well, but now I sometimes cut down 2 or 3 godlike bots in a row with the katana. It's most satisfying.

Anyway, I think a flail would be even better than a hammer. It would look pretty funny in 3rd person, people swinging flails & flogging the living crap out of each other. :lol: Could be either single-balled or multi-balled ( like this one http://www.ice-imports.com/images/Swords/Flail1.jpg )...

I dunno, we had 3 fast, semi-damaging melee weapons. What's left to balance said repetoire than a powerhouse?

Add what special features y'want.

i say the only other meele weapon BW needs is a crowbar with spiked tongs!

hammer, flail and crowbar.. 2x4, bat, tazer, and what else:blink: lots of ideas.. but the hammer is different at least.. maybe a big power melee is a good idea..

There's one more melee weapon I'd definitely like to see, though: a spear or lance! Roughly based on the one used by the Predators. Maybe it auto-extends when you whip it out, that would be very cool and realistic.

The -imo- absolute ideal version of this weapon could be used for both stabbing and energy projectile fire. Second choice would stab with prim and could be thrown quite a distance (maybe it's rocket assisted) with alt. Thrown spears could be picked up and used by anyone. Also they could impale one or even multiple enemies and temporarily pin them against walls and such. Special could be electric shock prodding mode, which does little damage but can temporarily stun people and push them over edges and such.

Now, doesn't that sound a lot cooler than a simple swing & smack weapon?
