A new idea of mine that ive had running around for a while just got the oppurunity to put a very rough sketch down on paper. These are watercooled rifles the first one has 2 modes of fire semi auto or full, the sniper can only go semi auto. They both fire .303 british rounds which arent realy good for fully automatic weapons but i figured sometimes you just gotta have a little fun. I'll work on the designs a little more but thats them in a nutshell.

and did you mean 303.or 308. cuase the 308 is mor known and better chambered for sniper rifles

.303 basicaly same ballistoc qaulities as a .308. Its just a normal rimmed rifle round, it was used by britain for an extremely LOOOOOONNNNNNGGGGGGG time. Its a good accurate round too. Im gonna work on some more, this time with a ruler and a sharp pencil.

I don't see the reason for more standard assult rifles. :/

However, these gave me the idea of gyrojet rifles. Slow full auto with mini rockets which has to accelerate to reach their top velocity.

But please cute the "Mk" name. -_- It has been used to death.

The top rifle looks like its a Vikers machine gun (used in the British Army in WW1) welded to a rifle stock.

Still, cool concept, reminds me of my averance (however i spelled it) class rifles.

well in real life the gyro rifles that fired mini bullet rockets were very ineffective they sucked and lacked the speed and power to kill one problem was the time needed for a rocket to accelerate to a high voloceity the gun barrels are to shrot and plus the rockets were to small to pack any punch anyway,and due to their small size they had little rocket power and couldnt go far at all they an effective range of about a few yards but still they hardly ever did any damage,lastly since they are so small they could never generate enough thrust to move at high speeds,unlike rocket luanchers that can luanch 6inch up to 1,000plusfoot rockets at thousands of miles an hours,firing a missile from rest to max speed in under 1 second.

Uglypants reconized it, I based the design slightly on the british vickers.

Looking much better, but why do they need such large barrels (the Vikers part).

thats what holds the water, hence the watercooled part.

One more thing, the sniper rifle already looks like the current one we have. just the whole hand gripe and stock, even a bit of the barrel.

I wish the current sniper looked cooler. It seems inconceivable that the human military's best traditional sniper looks like (and actually is, if I recall correctly) a dinky little hunting rifle.

The Barret light 50 and the crazyhorse m14 are not hunting rifles and the bolt action rifles the marines use are custom made by marine armorers. Or are you talking about the one in BW if so thats not a hunting rifle and if it is i wasnt aware.

I dont see how my sniper looks like the one BW has already, mine is emi auto has a flash hider, is water cooled and the stock has a nice little club on the end and the grips and butt stock are made of wood. I cant see any similarities.

I was talking about the BW one. It isn't a hunting rifle exactly, but the manual says it was taken from a bird hunting rifle design.

I looked up that M14 Crazy Horse thing, and I think I found the inspiration for the SRS900 Battle Rifle.

Its differebnt from the srs. It only fires semi auto, slow rate of fire and the scope is different and it can be used as a club, plus it is water cooled. Plus the action is WAY different from the srs. The srs has an m14 action, mine has an ak sks hybrid action.

Thats an m14 with a different stock but you are on the right track with it. Id like to get an m14 but them are expensive. 1500 when i saw em last

The scope on the SRS attaches to the rails on the top of the weapon grip.

You mean on the forward handgaurd. Your right though.

I dont think that full auto was good for that weapon because it fires a large cartridge in such a light rifle that the recoil was tremendous. I realy think that we should ditch the m16 series of rifles and go back to the m14.

It's still just another bullet rifle with not enough unique attribues IMO. If I have to press the button several times instead of keep pressing it doesn't matter too much does it? And what effect would the water cooling have in the game?? Only fluff effect since it can't be noticed by any way.

Do you even know what you're talking about? We have 4 shotguns in this game, why not make a big deal about that, eh?

What we don't have is a generic rifle with semi-auto firing. Not that matters if we did have one already, since this game isn't about having one gun of every type.

Not every gun needs unique attributes. The RS guys someday hope to get around 60 (or more) guns into BW, and not all of them will have special properties.

Sure thing. -_- I always disable 2 of the shotguns when i play against bots, along with the revolver and Mp5.

You look at most rifles on the face of the planet and not much has actualy changed since the automatic action was made, many guns still have alot of the same parts the older versions had. Countries dont accept weapons for use based on how "Unique" they are, they accept them on how probable the weapon system is, you have to take many things into account when a gun is made, What kind of soldiers is it gonna see, the condition of combat all that stuff, they aint accepting it because it looks cool when it shoots or has cool sounds or because its "unique".
