After dropping off the Sarge and Xavious, Jack Killian turned the UAC Speeder around and headed for Icos.

"You gun, I'll drive." Jack said to his brother Wade who was busy installing a new high-performance FPU.

They had gotten to Icos early; only two other ships were present.


One of the ships was a modern police cruiser, retrofitted for use with a heavy propulsion system and race weaponry. It would do well, police cruisers were fast by design and covered in 1-foot thick reinforced, shielded titanium.

The other ship was a well known racing ship. The 'Pulse' was its name. The driver had won the previous two races of light along with several larger tournaments. His craft was faster than all of theirs. Thankfully, it didn't have much space for weaponry.

The brothers' own ship was a heavily upgraded UAC Speeder. Being of UAC design, the ship was loaded with top-of-the-line weaponry; EMP Cannons, Photon Torpedos, Plasma Vulcans along with several standard forms of ballistic weaponry. Unfortunately, the weapons were unavailable in racing mode. The brothers would have to slow down to fire.

Bulska asked a question on the first story arc so i'll answer it,

You'll start on icos, then you'll head into the electronebula, then you'll make a pitstop on Nu Mars, then you'll enter the through the beast of the 5 tails, then you'll make a straight dash to Goromos where the finish line is there...

Jack Killian stared through the windshield as another ship entered Starport B4-551 of Icos. The vid-card confirmed it as the ship called 'Haste'.


"Hey, those're the guys we met earlier! Let's open a comlink and see if they know what happened back on that planet."

Wade pressed a button on the control console. A picture of the Haste's cockpit appeared on a small panel.

"Hello, who is this?" Bulska asked the two men.

"Jack and Wade Killian, nice to meet you."

"You two are the pilots of that Speeder we encountered earlier, right? What've you done with Xavious!"

"We just dropped him off at UAC's base. We were wondering what was so important about that guy."

"He was our captain, he had had a run-in with some of your troopers on a planet called Demenix 2."

"Harboring a criminal, eh?"

"He was no criminal, your men were shooting at him!"

"The UAC would do no such thing, he probably provoked 'em or something."

"We were returning to our ship.... "

They were interrupted by a loud voice coming from the vid-card.

"Racers! Start your engines! The race will begin in approximately 10 minutes!"

"We'll finish this chat later. Prepare to eat our dust!" Jack grinned as he shut down the comlink.

Sorry for the double post, but Bulska and Kylin, are you guys going to join in?

i'm considering what to say, i'm at a loss of words...

OoC: If you're the gunner, all you gotta do is shoot people. I'll start the race since this topic's dying down a bit.

"The race will start in 5 seconds!" It was the announcer's voice.

"5!" Jack Killian checked the engines. 99% efficiency.

"4!" Wade turned the weapon safeties off.

"3!" Jack revved the engines.

"2!"

"1!"

"GOOO!"

The multiple craft blasted off the launch pad leaving multicolored trails in their wake. Wade aimed the ship's cannon and fired an EMP charge at the Haste.

"Eat that!" Wade yelled though the comlink as they accelerated away.

Bulska rapidly activated his pulse engine and pushed the EMP blast away.
Haste closed in on the UAC Speeder, and he activated his pulse engine again, pushing the Speeder away.

"Hah, you stand no chance against this equipment from the Outer Rims!

(btw, this warp-drive distance? or normal-flight distance?)

"Outer Rims?! You're kidding, right?
That's where we got our equipment from!
Who's your dealer?"

Jack reset the ship's course and caught up with the Haste. The police cruiser was right behind them. The racing ship was far off in the distance.

A monitor on the Speeder's control panel flashed red. "Incoming rocket!" Wade quickly fired a chaff at the Haste, causing the police cruiser's missile to redirect its course.

"What the hell are we doing?" I asked. I looked around and saw that there was a police cruiser or something.

"Am I supposed to shoot that thing?" I asked, looking down at my gun. I made sure that it was loaded and ready so that when the time comes I don't have to go through all that crap. I checked it quite a few times because in a mission on some other planet, my captain told me that no matter how many times you drop a rock to the floor, you don't know when it might float up into the ceiling.

Jack watched as one of the ships was engulfed in a blue light. "Heh, stealth missiles."

Slowing down the engines, Jack expertly piloted the Speeder below the asteroid. Before speeding up, he fired a steady stream of plasma from the dual vulcan chainguns. The small purple pulses peppered the 'Haste' and the slowed down spaceship.

The ship's scanner showed that the slowed down spaceship was another racing craft. It had a large plasma cannon mounted on the side, better watch out for that. It was sparking from the impact from the missile.

The 'Pulse' was nowhere to be seen, they'd better catch up to it if they were going to win this race.

"BOOOM!"

An explosion shook the Speeder. Klaxons blared. "Engine malfunction! Shunt the power and activate the auxiliary engine! Increase coolant flow to both generators and put shielding on full power!"

The klaxons stopped and the engines reactivated. Unfortunately, that had lost several seconds in the race. Time was of the essence. With the shields activated, however, they would now be able to take hits without much damage to the hull.

The shields were activated just in time, for the ship was hit by several lightning bolts as it sped into the electrical nebula. Jack spied the police cruiser ahead of them in the vibrant cloud. "Wade! Fire the torpedoes at the cruiser ahead of us! Knock it into the 'Haste'!"

Wade did as commanded and the two large yellow photon bombs sped into the cruiser. A brilliant yellow explosion lit up the inside of the cloud. They watched as the now-flaming cruiser crashed directly into the
'Haste'.

The torpedoes fired at the cruiser were only at 25% power, however. Firing high powered weapons was forbidden in the Race of Light. While the UAC would be more than equipped to pay any charges against the Speeder, Wade didn't want any casualties.

"Waaaah INCOMING CRUISER"

The cruiser pushed the Haste away, but Bulska could activate the pulse engines right before damage became critical. The cruiser was pushed to the other side in the direction of the Speeder...

Shields were online too, as the lighting in the nebula is weak against shields, but can ripture trough hull and armor easily.

OOC: We gonna throw a Cruiser at each other the whole race long? Must be bad for the people in there being shaken around all day XD

"Cruiser's coming back, Jack!" Wade yelled to his brother.

"Activate the tractor bean!"

"The tractor what?"

"Ahem, beam."

"Right."

A bright blue electrical cable blasted out of the Speeder. It latched onto the cruiser, nudged it forward, and then jerked it backwards at breakneck speeds. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction, so as the cruiser flew backwards, the speeder blasted forwards.

Wade watched as once again, the cruiser went flying towards the 'Haste'. "Hahah! You like that?"

I'm reviving this in case of forum death.

The two stealth missiles collided with the Speeder, deactivating the shielding systems.

"Shields are down, reboot the system."

"Affirmative." Wade did as he was told. The system readout showed shields at 5%.

As the craft flew out of the nebula, the two noticed Nu Mars in the distance. That planet was the designated pitstop. This was their chance.

"Wade! Tear up a photon storm!"

Wade pressed a large button on the weapons console and the primary weapon pods opened up. Hundreds of photon torpedoes blasted out of the ship, obscuring the vision of the planet. The port and starboard plasma vulcans also opened fire, peppering all the other crafts with deadly charges.

The explosions lit up the sky like a solar flare, the spaceship shook with the force.

Haste was a little upfront when the photon storm struck, gladly the shields survived.

The racers were closing in on Nu Mars, with Speeder and Haste upfront, being followed by several other racer vessels.

Bad news- since i'm in school, things can go wrong, in case of chapter end while i'm in school- Captain xavious will start the next chapter for me.

Jack Killian noticed the 'Pulse' several miles ahead of the Speeder. Gah, too late. Firing now would do no good.

The two watched as the lightning fast craft slowed down and entered the orbital pitstop. It left just as the 'Haste' and their own ship docked. They had a lot of catching up to do.

Me lost it... who's leading and whats going on?

The 'Pulse' is ahead. The Speeder and the 'Haste' are docking at Nu Mars for repair and fuel. The other races are still stuck in mine field the Speeder set up.

As the 'Haste' and the UAC Speeder passed the 'Pulse', Jack checked his map. It showed that they would have to pass through the "Beast of 5 tails" before finishing at Goromos.

"The beast of 5 tails? What the heck is that?"

His question was soon answered as a massive cargo ship came into view. The ship's scanner read the freighter as the 'RNS Beast'.

"I guess this is it."

Jack piloted the Speeder towards the massive ship and sped in through an opening docking bay. Navigating was a nightmare. Crates and mechanized lifters lined the cargo hold. The Speeder crashed into one as they left the first bay. The ship shook with the impact and the shields dropped 20%.

"Jeez! This is insane! Leave some mines, will ya Wade?"

The yellow photon charges floated in the air in the spaces between the crates.

"Let's see the Haste get through this."
