And in the real world, when you die, you don't show up in the middle of the street with half your stuff gone or whatever the hell GTA does. You also usually go down when hit by a bullet, and will likely die from it.

Here we go best scenario ever:

Bush sends dear old Jack to the war, no gun, no armor, now here is the kicker, dear old Jack is dropped in to the center of a war zone with 8, twelve year olds who have done nothing but play Ghost Recon for the past 2 years. We’ll see how quick he is to lash out at his only means of surviving, provided the twelve year olds don’t decide to play cap the none-com.

That wouldn't be satisfying at all. He dies, then what? Happy dance? Hell no, it would mean he got away with his wrong-doings and that would be a terrible thing.

I hate to say it Bj but the only punishment on earth or anywhere else, that would be fitting would be to erase his legacy of wrong doing, and the power to do that is firmly in the hands of time……..and big brother.

I have no idea what that big brother is you're talking about, but I agree that time will erase the legacy. Though it will take time depending on what he does, so far he hasn't done anything that will be remembered for many years after his death.

Ok here is one of the bigger points; if you and I were standing in a room with no one else, and I were to say you could ignore gravity as if it never existed, and you were agree with me. It would be so, because no one can say otherwise with any creditability.

I will never support his cause, regardless of how much attention I pay to him. And I'm pretty sure no other sane gamer will either.

Never said it supports his cause. I said it fuels it, as in, you get a bunch of angry video gamers throwing out idle threats, he takes that and shows it to ignorant parents, he he has more "evidence" that the video games cause violence.

I agree with most points in this thread but I would just like to point out who is truly responsible here:

This all started when an elderly woman purchased GTA3 for his grandson because the grandson demanded it. She ignored the obvious R18 label because the boy was "nice and mature and knows what he is doing". But when she saw the kid running over innocent people and laughing like a maniac screaming "DIE DIE DIE", then hired a prostitute, shagged her, and killed her to get his money back also screaming "DIE DIE DIE" she got all upset at what was considered fun in GTA and she called the police.

You know the rest.

My point is, this is not just about Jack...

Actually, I would side with him if it weren't for the tactics he uses. I do find some forms of violence over the top. I think he just needs to be thrown into a lifetime supply of 100-dollar bills. Maybe that will shut him up (It works on most lawyers and attorneys! )
