All these images are in the videos I posted in the Halo 3 Ad Campaign thread. But nice work finding these pictures because the videos are off youtube and these shots are clearer. And yea halo 3's believe campaign was amazing the videos felt emotional and these recreations are stunning.

Anyway there probably is more, I cant think of a game more celebrated that Halo 3 right now. The TV ad for it keeps appearing on screen every 15 seconds.

I think starcraft 2 and UT3 will be equaly as great as Halo 3 yet there is not even a mention of those two. Everyone does these things only for halo

UT3 will have the graphical advantage for sure, we don't know about the rest. TV ads are expensive to run, I bet Epic and the publisher simply don't bother wasting money advertising an already well known game. The cocky Halo 3 people decided to go another route, though.

Heh heh, yeah, but remember, this is a fairly big investment of Microsoft, they can easily afford things like that, though in reality its hardly necessary for Halo.

Halo could practically sell itself if it had to.

Weirdest thing ever...

I got Halo3 and the limited edition 360 last night, waited in line for a couple hours first, went home, gone to bed, and am now on my computer.

I just realized I couldn't care less about getting Halo 3, even when standing in line. I didn't even play it yet...

Well, all I can say is that its a good thing it wasn't my money.

I don't even have X360, and probably won't get one till christmas.

It sounds good. but with getting online achievements to unlock new armor, No.

DAMN IT! You have to go online to unlock the armour? DAMN IT!

Yeah, the killzone armor helmet, you have to get the spartan officer achievement and thats online.

That sucks major amounts of hardcore.

Umm... Bjossi, you realize that halo 1 and 2 were extremely popular games that brought in plenty of Xbox related money, right? They really aren't that bad of games.

I liken Halo to a celebrity, it does not matter how much quality it has to offer. It will be equally liked because it is popular and it will be equally hated because it is popular. Nothing Bungie does to Halo 3 will stop that for as long as it is a world renowned title.

The original halo was a great game one of the highest scored games on gamespot I think. Xbox version beat Ut04. And for halo 2 and 3 to live up to its predecessors greatness is impossible. Now that we have something to judge off of *Halo 1* every little tiny flaw that wouldn't be noticeable if it was an original game is wide in the open for scrutiny.

And if Halo 1 an 2 were such pieces or crap why did they sell? Halo 1 didn't have any expectations to live up to, was it complete incidental that it sold so much and brought the Xbox back from the brink? I think it was the amazing gameplay and stunning 2001 graphics that drew in the crowds. Not to mention the Multiplayer thats a whole other paragraph.

Amazing gameplay does not bring customers to the table because you don't experience it until after the purchase. As for the graphics, might very well be the selling point. The mainstream gamers look at the graphics to judge the quality of the product, which is sad really.

Oh, and by the way, I'm curious about one thing in the Halo series; why did an armor get named after Thor's hammer? (the MJOLNIR suit)

Also, its graphics weren't really its selling point, they weren't really outstanding in any way for their times. They weren't bad, but not really spectacular. Halo 3 is another story though.

Anyways, messed around in MP last night for a couple hours. I love the new weapons and the customization available to the game types! It's awesome!

Also, it appears that you don't have to unlock all the new armour by playing online, but I can't say for sure. I'm thinking you can unlock some playing/beating SP in various difficulties.

The armour customization is pretty awesome too. My guy looks like a medic, has the classic helmet and left pouldron, the chest and right pouldron are the C.O.D. ones, blue primary colour, white for secondary and details. The emblem is the wolf symbol (light gray pri colour) with the secondary colour of it turned off, and a red cross as the background. Looks like a medic. With the COD pouldron for the left, it leaves a wide area for the emblem, making it high visibility from a distance.

I'm quite proud of it, actually.

Anyways, need to try out SP yet, hopefully in Co-Op you get to keep your armour colour instead of having four guys looking exactly the same in the stock green armour.

As for why the armour is called the MJOLNIR, I'm not really sure of the reasoning.
