The G8 Rocket Launcher isnt a good name... as the G5 was named after a transport ship. So G8 would have little meaning.

The infinity idea is awesome. Kinda like a portable black hole or sorts.

The Infinity idea is too similar to ChaosUT's Gravity Vortex. Actually, I would say that it's completely identical.

Your MRS220 idea has me thinking of some kind of M1 Garand-style weapon. That I would like to see.

The infinity

Great name! Finaly someone moves away from the standardised Terran naming scheme (ABC-123 RIFLE/SHOTGUN/PISTOL) for Skrith weapons. I like that.

The idea of a vortex wormhole based weapon has been revolving in my mind also, it would greatly suit the Skrith who need a "different kind" of grenade. Hope to see more skrith ideas.

A10 Power Shield

I can see this being useful in Onslaught, should it be a bit wider so it can block doorways? Definetly make it destroyable.

By combi-gun you actualy mean combination gun? It looks like its big enough to fire massive shotgun slugs so why not give it more options?

The idea came from one old crappy movie about the aliens that i seen about 5 years ago i redesigned their device little bit, anyways gimme the link to ChaosUT.

Here's a screenshot with it pulling some some of the Phoenix Bomber bombs from the Target Painter. The UT99 version of the weapon had you just drop the thing and get the hell out of Dodge. The UT2k3 and 4 versions let you shoot the things for less risky deployment. Also, there's a kick button you can use to punt them further away from you.

Pretty fun mod. The weapons aren't very well balanced, but there's some neat stuff in there. I particularly enjoy the Melee modes and am God-like at them.

Well those weapons was made long time ago but was not finished, i decided to finish them and post, i know this is probably the last version of Ballistic Weapons, but these ideas should not just disappear...

The Cryon Gun ... well... i dont know how they look... so here is my point of view how their weapons should look.
This is my last idea for the time until new BW version will be anounced.

Uhm we have skrithy ones. And a stun from a simple punch doesn't sound very good. Nor does a single stab.

Eh what does it do except having a secondary flamethrower?? And I don't think flamethrower is good.

Grenade launcher
There are plenty GL ideas already. If we are to have any, it must be able to fire the hand grenades.

2)If you dont like flamethrower it doesent mean that everyone dont + its a combi weapon

I just cant understand you, if take it as you say so if M50 have installed Grenade Launcher what now we dont need a rocket launcher or what ? it fires explosive shels too you know.
I told you its not a flamethrower its a machinegun with special function just as s M50 only it fires not grenades but a burst of flame.
Instead of saying crap you could suggest something useful, give some recommendations.

While variety is great and all, we really don't need two varieties of wrist blade.

An underslung flamethrower would make a gun rather heavy. It wouldn't make for a very good assault rifle.

Maybe, its designed for Cryon, and i think they are stronger than normal humans, so humans can use it
as a heavy weapon, such as machineguns.

Cryons care not for design efficiency, such beasts only need to know two things:

-Can it be toted?

-Can it not be toted?

If a Terran is unable encapsulate such weapons then as a Cryon I would say "too bad"

I think the Cryon weapon is great but I have critisisms of my own; it looks too human, a Cryon weapon would look alot more biological. I suggest adding more curves and replacing some metal parts with flesh, then you should get much more a Cryon appearance.

It does not need to be entirely meat, just not entirely metal.

Everything else is great however.

As for the wrist blades I have to agree with others, the Skrith do it better.

Sorry my first sentence was a bit weird. Here's how it was supposed to be. Compared to the other weapons a fist doing more damage with a simple punch than the knife would be just wrong.

Anyway we have 2 machineguns and 1 minigun. It's enough. Just like there is enough bullet shooting weapons in general. If there are to be more weapons, they should be something less real life and more sci-fi. A flamethrower is a very unique and special weapon, something you only have 1 of. A grenade launcher and a rocket are different enough. One is launched in an arc and works as secondary attack on a rifle, the other one is a big flying thing that goes straight forward and can be guided. If there are to be another GL to the mod then it must be something else than an M50 without the primary fire.

Evidently that is not what Runestorm thinks, they have no compunction against duplicates

There's nothing wrong with duplicates of certain guns, but only if they differ enough that their use is truly unique, or enough that some could genuinely prefer one over the other, even if they fulfill the same role.

Take the Fifty-9 and the XRS-10. Both fulfill the same role as close-range automatic pistol, but they're different enough in function that one doesn't completely replace another.

Some things simply don't need duplicates, however. We don't need two wrist-blade weapons. Why punch a guy when you can just stick another blade on the other arm and stab him instead? But then, it would be exactly like the A909. And a wrist-blade weapon just doesn't sound like it'd fit in with a professional Terran military.

We also do not need two flamethrowers. How do you make significantly different from the RX22A to justify its existence, while still making sense as a weapon?

A combination machinegun and flamethrower is quite different, sure. But does it make any sense? No, it does not. Sure, a Cryon might be able to effectively use it, but if a human can't, then there's no reason for the weapon to be in the game, at least until this becomes a TC and some Cryon dudes are added.

EDIT: Apparently, there existed a Finnish submachine-gun with an underslung flamethrower. Odd

A flamethrower would replace a bayonet on a rifle. If theres any reason to integrate the two, that would be the reason.

In a scenario where you want both an effective long range suppression AND a short range suppression solution then a machinegun/flamethrower combo may make more sence than it seems...at least to a cryon anyway.

The question of how you would make 2 flamethrowers different from eachother is a tough one however.

Quick idea:

Perhaps one could have a shorter range, slower speed, wider area of effect and mass but less explosion when colliding against a surface and finaly a higher tempurature(more damage). That wont be enough to separate their uses (hell, what else is a flamethrower good for?) but it may give you a reason to choose one over the other

An example of a flamethrower that produces these effects could be one with a higher plasma density scale.

I said that it will be weaker, have shorter range, can't spread unegnited fuel and have lower fuel capacity.
It means that original flamethrower will be better in all stats, but the cryon gun will be multi purpose weapon.

Just a though: well it can unleash blue or maybe red fire to make it more original. (you know every substance have its own fire colour, who know what they will use as fuel)

Lets see. right now, I do in fact sometimes use the gravity orb and grenade launcher from ChaosUT with ballistic stuff... though it would be nice to have ballistic version that work with the ballistic command keys so I don't have to fumble with finding a layout for all the ChaosUT commands as well. Can't forget to have multiple grenade types swappabble on the grenade launcher, of course.... I do think we need a few superweapons that are more exotic than the minigun and lightning gun, such as an artillery/airstrike like the Z9 and maybe a super grenade like the Infinity.

XMV-1000 - make it fire laser beams or energy/plasma pulses, and have a high risk over overheating. as for recoil, as an energy weapon, it would have enough lower recoil over a projectile design of that type to be usable. keep the limited ammo clip so that overheating and the low clip are its drawbacks. I'd prefer to either see the gatling assault rifle or a handheld light mg42 like in Jin Roh for high ROF low ammo, moderate accuracy.

X5 wrist blade, G8 RPG, XMV666 gatling gun are redundant with what we already have in Ballistic Weapons, IMHO.

We need a bullet rifle with a bayonet on it, though I would prefer to see a bayonet added to the R9 instead of an SA-12 or M50 duplicate. The R9 has that WW1/WW2 rifle feel, and it feels like it is incomplete without one, for all that it handles nearly perfectly otherwise.

MRS220 rifle reminds me more of the heavy AT rifles of WW1 and early WW2 instead of a heavy attack rifle or scopeless sniper rifle. I'm not sure if there's any real room for this, you can get the same effect by flipping the 50 cal machinegun over to single shot mode.

0-12 Penetrator looks too much like a grenade launcher, really, tho I undersatnd you were prolly going for more of an auto-shotgun with drum look, or a welding spike projector look (see the movie event horizon). A look like the penetrator rail gun from FEAR would suit a spike weapon more, though, frankly, that basically looks like a prettier bolter in all honesty.

Combi-gun... hm. doesn't feel right if they aren't firing the mini rocket bolts. I think I favor the Panzer Corp approach more on that, sorry.

I think the Miner energy ray is covered by the energy gun we're getting with BWP4. My first thought when I looked at it was it looked like the flamer/freezer/airfist in ChaosUT.

Off-topic, but you don't need separate keys for Chaos and Ballistic weapons. I currently have my Chaos changeammo and Ballistic weapon mode functions bound to the same key, as well as the Chaos AWO and Ballistic weapon specials.

Thanks for the compliment, Faceless. Sorry for that off-topic bit, but back on to your weapons. The X5 is uninteresting. Needs to be a longer, curved blade, but that's just my personal preference. The 0-12 is good, would love to nail enemies about the place MRS220... I like it. Give it exploding rounds and it's perfect in my opinion. XMV666 Gatling gun is cool, like the shield. Good for a moving assault. G8, while unoriginal, we need a fast-firing heavy rocket launcher. Speaking of which, I should finish my Nebelwerfer-esque weapon.... Anyways, the XMV-1000 is cool. Maybe hollow-point rounds. nothing worse than a cripeload of bullets fragmenting in your gut As for the combi-gun, I suggest different ammo types.

The energy rifle we are getting with BWBP4 is a little wimp. I want to see a big & nasty energy-related gun, if you ever played the Descent games you know how powerful and diverse they can get.
