A998 Neutron scatterer.

Primary- fires an neutron beam, which allows to go through walls, but as each wall it passes through, the power decreases as the beam grows. which means the more walls it goes through, the lesser the damage. It can also charge up but it only increases power by a half fold.

Damage- 60, decreases by 10 through each wall

Alt- Uses scope, has X-ray Capabilities which allows to see through walls. however, it's battery charged so use it sparingly.

Special- Opens up the anti scatter device, which when the beam is fired, it has a gold color instead of blue. when it hits the target, the DNA becomes mini atomic bombs, when 3 seconds is up, the anti scatter device destroys the DNA, which destroys blood cells, which causes an mini quantum explosion, however it wastes all your ammo, and must force to reload.

Damage- 75

Ammo- 5, found in packs of quantum radiation.

Story- During the famous war of 2121, the "4 day" surge happened when the skrith attacked the city of New Freos, the skrith had beared this weapon when searching for the plans for the G5. The A998 is a railgun of some sorts but instead has a decreased ammo count, less power, and wacky scope. But it compensates for that due to the "quantum split" barrel, it splits into five parts allowing each anti scatter device to form, but takes a long time to fully split, and when fired it must reload, but it's really powerful and can destroy any target when fired. but it must on lined up or it will totally miss

Anti matter is a bit over the top. It would blast as soon as it touches an atom. How exactly does the damage work? A beam that deals 100 dps? I myself would have antimatter weapons keeping the antimatter in some vacuum container which is sent to the target. But then it would be like a simple rocket, with a bit more power.

Anyway I would like to make it into a neutron gun instead, splitting atoms. In some fictions they go through walls and the damage decreases the farther they travel. I would like the beam to be gold all the time, a beam of many golden particles.

That beam would drop energy as it travels, as well as it passes through solid material. 5 damage decrease per wall is way too little by the way. 15 is a minimum imo.

This gun has a nice sound to it but the numbers and background explanation need some work.

umm BW weapons don't go with how many walls Or else I could shoot my railgun round trough the skybox, if I know where it is.

It's thickness.

Normal hallways, such as the ones in DM-B-Ancient, are 256 wide. my brother has found out that the SRS 9000 can shoot trough about 32 thick walls, and normal weapons trough about 16 thick walls.

As was mentioned above that distance and walls (or thickness, if you like that word better) determine the final damage of the shot. You did bring up an interesting idea though, instead of just detecting a thickness, the projectiles consider the thickness too, and uses that to determine the amount of damage reduction per wall.

Anti-matter is destroyed on contact with "normal" matter, releasing HUGE amounts of energy. When a particle and an anti-particle collide, they release 100% of their energy. A hydrogen bomb, by comparison releases about 7%. An anti-matter beam wouldn't travel through walls. It would annihilate them.

A neutron beam, as Kien mentioned, might be closer to what you're looking for. Neutron bombs were developed to defend against armored divisions, as a tank's armor can't easily protect against neutron radiation.

There aren't many things that can, with neutron bombs you could exterminate all life in an entire city without damaging any of the buildings.

Keep the anti-matter idea in mind for a superweapon.

Actually, that's a bit of an urban legend. While neutron bombs have a much lower explosive yield than other nuclear weapons, current designs have a 1 kiloton yield. It would probably level whatever city it's deployed in. For reference, the most powerful conventional weapon (a Russian-built fuel-air bomb) has a yield of only 44 tons of TNT. Not saying that's small, but it's a lot smaller than a neutron bomb.

As for the weapon idea, it would be neat to see the effects of radiation exposure on a player. If you get hit with this weapon, over the usual direct damage, you would be irradiated, making you very nauseous after a short time. That can be simulated by maybe blurring your vision a bit and maybe tinting it yellow or something. It'll slowly sap your health, quickening in pace over time. Reaching a medpack would decrease your radiation level through sci-fi-voodoo-medicine, although it'll go back up again unless you remove it entirely.

You can irradiate areas by shooting at them, although it'll go back to normal over time. It might even be fun (and a little dickish) to allow users to irradiate weapons and other pickups, but that might make it a little overpowered.

That would be awesome.

You, sir, brought up the best ideas I have read in a long time. If you played STALKER, it has a fantastic screen effect when you get sick from radiation poisoning. I actually felt sick myself, that's how immersive the effects were.

(well, in STALKER it wasn't radiation directly, but PSI emittions, still could easily share the same neat effects)

STALKER had both radiation poisoning and PSI emissions. I'd much rather go with the rad effect than the debilitating PSI effect.

Even a simple Controller became a tough adversary when the screen was jumping all around.

The rad effects just lit up the picture on the screen. The PSI rad effects were gorgeous, the way they slowly got worse; the symptoms (reduced hearing, the feel of the character's dilution, background noise, you even see things that aren't there). Of course it can't be that intense in a fast paced deathmatch game but it can still be damn cool compared to the boring radiation poisoning effects.

yeah weird design, but i do like the idea it sounds really cool.

you guys said anti-matter wouldnt work so what about dark matter or are they the same thing?

so is this weapon is sorta like a partical accelerator or sumthing like that? but instead of using particals to move an object it uses particals to move a beam of them?

i like kaboodles idea but the weapon does look like a space ship lol.

I dont think Storm made it to suggest its actual appearance, rather he put that there as a general pointer of its architecture and cosmetics.



Dark matter is far from anti-matter. It is believed to be the substance that forms the emptyness of space and a large influential factor of the time and gravity that resides in it. You could call it the theory of nothingness.

Unfortunately I hear that Dark matter has been officially declared bollocks after a study on black holes showed that the substance could not have had anything to do with the formation and behaviour of objects in the known universe.
