BTW, for those who are blind, that bottom most one is NFS:Prostreet, AKA crap racer that tried to be like Forza 2 but failed completely. All it has a bit better is just some minor graphics and the ability to play on PC. FM2 though is very good with the 360! Oh... and the Livery Editor... ^_^

That's not my game, my brother's PC isn't powerful enough so I allow him to install it on mine.
To me, all racing games are a piece of shit, especially those made by EA. So don't worry, I would never play that crap.

I would like to defend NFS: ProStreet, because I find the game fun. First of all, I got ProStreet as well. Main reason: I don't have an XBOX 360, although I have tried the FM2 demo in a store. Second of all, if people forgot about the predecessors of ProStreet, it is a pretty fun game. Totaling the car hasn't got this fun for years XD.

ProStreet shouldn't be considered a rip-off of Forza 2 either. The car tuning has been a big part of Need For Speed already, so saying that the tuning/dyno/wind tunnel thing in ProStreet is a ripoff of the Livery Editor is not plausible, if you did state that. Second of all, I do not see what they ripped off from Forza. In my opinion, the physics are very different, the main focus of each game is different, and Need For Speed really focused on picking what a street racer would drive. I think the way they evaluate the car's performance is different as well.

In conclusion, OC, I don't think ProStreet should be looked at as crap. They tried hard to bring us the Professional Street Racing Scene, and to me, they succeeded. Just because there are other great racers that may cast a shadow on this game, there's no reason to say that it's an attempt to recreate another racer.

Unlike, probably, 99% of the people here, I happen to like Need For Speed, and that's why I posted this. I'm defending what I like.

With this path of evolution we'll be playing NFS ProStreet 3: The Dirty Roads next Friday.

Let's face it, EA made this game to make money, just like they poop out the same game over and over again each year; football games.

Pro Street is getting average reviews, so EA is probably not going down the same path again. And football games come out each year because of new players, and new ideas. Saying that EA is pooping football games over and over again is definetly correct, but as long as they're making a living out of it, you have to give props to them for pulling it off. Many companies poop out the same games over and over again, but does anyone complain? Not really.

The Dirty Roads? I think they pretty much did that in earlier NFS games. I have a feeling they're going for Need For Speed: Touge.

I used to play EVE, untill I realized that it's fun:price ratio was worthless, although its lots of fun. Here's my desktop (1 of 2 PC's)

You can find a better experience through other games. PS is basically just trying to mix together other games into one crap package. I actually had followed PS for a while, so I do know some unfortunates that would have made tha game more fun. One of those is the conflict with crashing: They asked Criterion for the Burnout system, but that was given back as a negative due to... Autosculpt screwing with the crash system that Burnout uses.

Oh and Most Wanted kicked ass.



I meant the painjob stuff in PS was a crappy rip from Forza's (both 1 and 2). If you're gonna do it, then do it right. The idea to go for a simulator racer this year was more like them trying to ride off success of the latest simluator games like FM2 and GT4 (GT4 from a while back obviously). They tried to make it sound like they were going for a simulator (oh yay... 300 physics calcs instead of Carbon's 32! That's still crappy.), but yet they wanted to keep with the NFS arcade style. I think the idea kinda is stupid, and just can't be mixed together very well by EA. It's already hard enough to get a mix of the two, but with EA it's harder since they only give NFS a year to make a game.



A pro street racing scene would actually be a lot more like a real race, just with more everyday cars that were super tuned.

I like NFS too, it's just that NFS has strayed from its roots and turned to a money-getter for EA. My favs end up being NFS:HP2, U, U2, and MW. I have Carbon... but I'm thinking of selling it (but I won't get any money for it prolly from any used game store).

OC, I can't argue that the earlier NFS games are what made the series so famous, but don't blame the game itself. Blame EA. They might just be afraid of that new Blizzard-Activision Team that's formed. Heck, I wouldn't blame them if they are. But looking at it solely as a game, I think some concepts in ProStreet seriously have potential, and if EA can put aside money for once (highly unlikely), working on these concepts can really do some good.

By the way, let's take it to the Private Messaging system if we still have something to say XD.
