Well it's finished I think.

This map is a medium-sized fast action ancient styled map. Nice graphics and gameplay.
I need this to be tested and see if its working completely. If I go hosting it at UnrealPlayground while the zip is broken or something, then I have to go all over it again of hosting it. So please just try it out

Those trees still look like total CRAP. I'd suggest going and making them a bit of a darker texture.

I have no different textures

It aint my trees, but I can make it darker up there.

You can go and photoshop them to be darker on the texture. The leaves are just hellishly bright.

well at least 'hellish' fits BW well enough.

I downloaded the map myself at 2 different locations and both dont work.

Seeing as nobody else has posted this problem, I see nobody even tried it

I got too slow a connection to download it here. I was full intending to download it at the college.

It seems to work for me, I down loaded it a while ago. The armor shards and the blow away urns are cool.

In any case what are the few things I should edit?

I know a few.
Anti portal in specific place (nothing people should worry about, just helps optimizing)
Helping ugly trees
Adding foliage sheets (so good performence) up in the forest.

Anything else I should consider?

For some reason it doesn't show up in my maps list Ive checked everything and everything seems to be placed in the right folders
Try adding falling leaves in it for some nice calm atmosferical effect

Same, I downloaded it and unzipped it, but it doesn't show up.

They dont show in the screenshot, but there are already plenty in the real map.

Some other effects dont show up in the screenies aswell, making the map even better ingame ^^


And it seems that the zip or something is broken, or filefront f'd it up.

I did a little change on optimizing, nothing noticable. And I tried to make the trees look better but sadly that requires hard time photoshopping which im too lazy to do atm.

Anyways you should be paying attention on your enemies not on the trees, they cant be shot down.

Would be nice though, imagine the death messages
"Malcom got wacked by a tree"
or "you just cut down a tree nice work lumberjack" if you attack a tree

Just played it , good bot support and nice theme though i must say that the breaking urn effect seems a little bit wierd for example you shoot a with a handgun and it looks like the urn explodes maybe making it weapon dependen could make it funnier (but that would mean writing a code for it and since i don't have any notion of that i guess it's difficult to do ).
One thing i would like to say is mayby you could make the broken urn's reapear ? I personally find it fun to shoot them (seems to distracts human opponents )

I could easily make them appear back without any problem. You wont even get stuck when it appears while your at its location (I think)

I might find a way to give the urns health. Shoot it enough and only then they explode

After how long should I reappear an urn?

Depends on the shards i say,If you have a lot of rendered shards flying out id say less often than otherwise.

And dude,you changed your avatar... to... that thing.... At least do it in style,mabye use the Aperature Science(Portal) logo instead?

lol my new avatar's shape is called aperture, Aperture Science technologies is using the 'aperture' shape for their logo. Maybe I'll get other avatar soon.

The urns explode and a simple emitter is shown. It isnt heavy at all and no shards remain in the level.

First of all, pretty map, me likey muchos. Overhead trees are a bit too green, tends to dissolve my retinas.
And as others have mentioned, the urns are awesome, I got killed about 3 times arseing around with them and pineapples.

I found it fun, and really that's what I want from a map. It's truly great, with inf. blood, decals and corpses =)


Anyway, I didn't encounter any bugs except one, A lot of the time I noticed bots getting stuck on this wooden rampy bit, and respond to nothing until you kill 'em dead.



So errr... yeah. Fix the treeees! =) and more falling leaves, they're purty.

Didn't notice that bug most likly because i play against humans (less than 3 bots )but i don't mind easy kills

About that respawning of the urn's mentioned before i would say respawn them after a minute or so considering the possibility of the urn healt if implimented or would that be to fast ?

a minute seems a little bit fast, 2 minutes will do fine I think. I'll add it in when I get behind the PC with a working editor again.
