It screams 'lazy' to me. They designed a menu for a console and didn't even consider to make it more PC friendly for the PC version. So in a way it is a mix of lazyness and retardness, mostly the latter.

I hate the way the taunts sound in UT3. People were complaining over the UT2 ones, but oh man was I in for a surprise when the demo map ShangriLa loaded up and I play for a few secs.

Some of the weapon design in UT3 is awful. Just a random comment.

UI and SP do suck. But it really doesn't even matter, all you do is just edit some ini files and you have all the unlocked characters and you never need to deal with SP (which is stupid cause your bot teammates act real dumb).

Just stick with the Botmatches and Multiplayer.

The bots are hopeless for any competitive game in SP, you are the only hope that the team will win. I haven't seen good AI teamwork since UT99, in that game they can actually take care of the base.

are you talking about the onslaught mode. try them on masterful or godlike mode. )
then they really take the win or lose seriously

And the bots far exceed my limited skills on Masterful or Godlike.

Single Player Campaign...

If you get skins/models that have high precentages, use them if you can afford it.

The gunreal campaign is harder, sure it's the same thing as Vanilla UT2004, but the bots are more challenging, even on average.

The bots in Gunreal are insanely cheap. They have like instant knowledge of where you spawn and everything.

Not trying to be a troll here, but I would question that statment. I've started to play a little bit of UT99 revently (mainly DOM and CTF) and noticed that the bots are not too... productive. Obviously, you ahve more (ecent) experienece with UT99, but you really think UT99 bots are the smartest so far?

Wait one second. the bots in UT3 are better than any of the previous games. It is the only game where you can tell them all too defend and sit happily knowing your flag is almost perfectly safe. In the stock maps anyway. For example:

In hydrosis I say defend and then 3 of them fan out around the flag, 1 of them jumps up onto the platform opposite the flag and holds position and one of them sits in the tunnel next to the flag. They move sometimes for ammo ammo and pickups but compared to ut2k4 (Agree with with bjossi ) they are brilliant.

Or are we just talking about ut2k4 and ut99 now... I swear this thread is about UT3 patch 3! lol

No. I think they are the most effective. In UT99 I can actually leave the base and go for the enemy team's flag in CTF without our base getting pwned by the enemy team, which happened all the time in UT2's campaign when I played. It was like the enemy team was deliberately ten times more skilled.

Wait! In the UT2 campaign you get too choose your team. If your not happy with their defending then just pick a different team.

You get to choose your team at the start of the game, not after that iirc.

Ya, cept aiming in UT3 is a bit wonky to say the least. Like to get a total flak gib, you have to like lock-on in a way with your flak cannon.
