honestly yes... but its NOT with Dawn of War or Halo this time. this time, its with AOE III. you remember the issues I had with dawn of war? basically I have the same graphics issues in AOE III now..... good grief!

update AoE3, update any drivers you have and run a virus scan on your computer as well defrag your drive, though the last 2 won't do much good, it always helps.

oh well. your system must suck or something. MIght be time to upgrade.

It can be a pain to find the "perfect drivers", one driver works good for games A and B while it could screw up C and D. It is best to do some research, find out what driver works well with the games you play.

@UP... my system's good its just..... I'm getting to that point myself where its that time.

@Bjossi.... the ATI Catalyst 7.1 drivers work with Halo and Dawn of War while the ATI 8.5 Catalyst drivers worked with Quake 4, stronghold crusader, Mega Man X4, Doom 3, Return to Castle Wolfenstein, Jade Empire, Half Life 2: the orange box, and Warcraft III plus the expansion.

Chances are the 7.1s worked with those games as well.

yep.... they sure do work with those games.

By the way, I have talked about this problem before with my old ATI. This is just the beginning, my good chum. I've had this problem, and soon enough you'll have dead pixels, screwed up meshes and constant computer crashes! Oh joy!

By the way, what I did was switch out the graphics card. Problem solved.

I never knew what the ACTUAL cause of mine was, but I would guess that my graphic card's fan stopped functioning..... or it blew up from something...


EDIT: I wouldn't switch out my graphics card right away, though. Wait a bit, see if long playing hours cause these symptoms to surface, then find some game with sprites, and see if there are dead pixels there. If overtime, it happens to every game, then switch out your GPU. Be damn sure that nothing else is wrong.

See, i knew that you'd need to fork over some money to upgrade your GPU.

Roy, I second that you should wait and see what happens. Your GPU is good enough that you do not want to swap it for something else without being 130% sure that it is the source of the problems.

I hate to say this guys but.. I tried the old drivers with dawn of war and it dosen't resolve problems at all... just gives me more....

Then, most likely, it is a GPU problem. Just make sure every other component is stable, then see if this graphical glitch surfaces in different games. If there are the same symptoms, then it is most likely a near-dead GPU.

CPU, RAM, Sound card, DVD burner, and the rest including the PSU pretty much work.....

If the driver is older than the game, then that is not surprising.

hey I have upgraded to the 8.6 Catalyst drivers and THEY WORK with just about every game I have..... I will update when I get time...

I am trying these games again with the latest drivers. my dad says its software problem..

I have this issue resolved FINALLY! I am going to get an RMA number for this card if I can. I emailed Powercolor's RMA team today and heres what their email said: (since I wanted to know what the warranty on my video card was and I NOW know what the warranty on it is.)

what does this mean? we will replace it with the same type of graphic card and send
the new one to you. does that mean they will give me a different series of graphics card by Powercolor?

They will send you a new card of the same type, if the old one can't be repaired.

oh ok..... I am waiting to get an email from powercolor's RMA team today and see if I can get an RMA number.

thats good... I would definitely want no problems here! bad news is that I am without a computer for 2 weeks. I got an RMA number for my graphics card today. I will send it out tomorrow.
