You guys should buy a top-of-the-line computer for maybe 30% of that amount. It is kind of like earning credits in a war and using it to buy better gear, just a way to progress up the ladder to reach that $1 million.

Why enter another torture chamber when you can go out into the daylight and work with an open source and reliable development environment like Linux?

heh, the main problem with being a game developer and trying to develop on OS X is... the current lack of tools... which is next to none.

Windows users have access to the (3rd party) tools available, but Microsoft are not helping with the restrictiveness of the OS and their bloat-policy.

Woot... $100 (or $150) for beta testing and feedback and co-captain of UT3DOM!

'cause your average computer gamer who has no qualms about forking over large amounts of money usually uses Windows and would be lost if double-clicking does not do anything useful or, at least, bring up a snazzy GUI. As an example, I can recall a friend talking about how Awsome Vista is.

him: "And when I move my mouse over the "close" button, it glows."
me: "....uh-huh"
him: "it GLOWS!!!! Oh, and you gotta see my animated desktop."
me: "Look, a shark swimming in circles..."
him: "Isn't that awsome?! oh, and mt. Dew got a new paint jiob on their cans so I had to by a few more cases..."
I'll just stop there.

I don't think a comment on stupidity can even be done justice for that scenario, so I'll just leave no comment and wonder how people come to be in that state, while shaking my head in shame at humanity.

Whoever at Epic that came up with the idea of not including DOM in UT3 should pay every single UT3 player a few dollars.

Not bad for our first attempt with this generation of engine. Also like to mention that before Hel, the last character we made was for Quake2, years ago and it wasn't anything to boast about...

Wait'll you see what we got next. We have learned so much since phase 1. A year ago, I wouldn't have thought we would be capable of this kind of stuff.

Sesmar was my favorite DOM map in UT99. This will be good.

WoLvErInE rocks, his mapping skills are awesome! He has some crysis meshes in his Sesmar remake as well.
