Has anyoen else here had a go at this yet? It is seriously good fun

The whole concept of the game is excellent, and the final product is polished, bug free, and worthy of being a game in itself one day. Albeit, more content and the such would be needed. I love the risk reward, and money system as they add brilliant mechanics to the gameplay. Opening more doors gives you more/better weapons, but means you have more windows to defend. while the money system adds alot of balance, meaning the early waves aren't impossibly easy and by the later waves you have the means to defend youeself!

Another excellent dynamic is the ability to (attempt) board up windows while frantically sprinting around to escape from the zombie hoard. The random weapons chest also adds an enormous amount of replayability to the game. I have found that the best combo is a flamethrower and laser gun... Yep! I said laser gun!!! A cool little easter egg that pops up every now and then. Something that looks like it has jumped right out of unreal tournament 3 Its 1 shot kill zero recoil and 100% accurate However, even with this beast of a gun I have not gotten past 15 waves.

The map the gametype comes with is also excellent, and succeeds in creating a scary and tense atmosphere, Its generally scary the first time you see a zombie limping towards you out of the fog. and i still get shivers every now and then. added to the fact it is pretty much the first zombie game using world war II weapons, I have to say it pretty much makes call of duty world at war my favourite game of all time. Save for S.T.A.L.K.E.R Shoc maybe.


Oh yeh, the reason I just renamed this old thread is because they are talking about the same game and the other one was only made a short while ago.

Infinity-ward took COD4 in the right direction by moving on to something new, now its time to backtrack to good ol WW2 again.

COD5 was definitely an improvement over COD3.

I'm actually looking forward to getting the game when it comes out.

Actually. I see COD4 as a refreshing break to WWII, But i Still prefer the older weapons, and enviroments. The enviroments in COD5 are definately a step above COD4. Did you know about the Nazi Zombie gametype? thats going to be win!

IM just excited about fighting the japanese. Thats gonna be cool to see how accurate they got the weapons.

Well, you can figure the number by taking the square root of the current year divided by 4, rounded down, multiplied by the score of the previous WWII title, and add the third root of the IQ of the average game writer.

I think they should keep making them for a long time. As no ww2 shooter ive seen has been accurate enough for me. Plus its kind of a way of honoring those that fought and died, an attempt to educate kids who are playing it in saying dont forget what these men and women went through to protect the future that many of them did not get to see.

If you have battlefield 1942 or 2, you could try the FH and FH2 mods. They are above average in realism.
But I too don't think there are enough Great War games. There is one called Verdun that is in production, but I don't know when it will be ready or how good it'll be.

im gonna try CoD world at war once my XBox 360 is fixed after the whole [size=22px] RED RING OF DEATH [/size] thing is resloved. zombies in WW2 sound intresting.
saints row 2 (Way more Fun then GTA4 ) had somthing like that called zombie survival or something like that.
im kinda getting tired of the whole WW2 thing of call of duty.
i wanna see something that takes place in the near future. not like halo or anything with aliens or overly SCI-FI but like battlefield 2142 style (minus the ice age)

CoD:WaW is 39.99 Canadian, dunno if i should buy it, is it worth it?

yes it is worth it. Well I think so. It is almost as good as cod4, better than cod3 and has a very awesome Zombie gametype that they will be expanding on. The Zombie gameplay easily outclasses anything I have seen before apart from Left 4 dead

My buddies and I did the zombie mod for COD: WaW. We got to about wave 20 and then we all died.

I wish they'd do this for a bunch of games: COD4, Far Cry 2, Crysis, etc. It'd be sick!

I played a bit o' it recently. Seriously, those bastards don't die. With two people, one of them being me, we got to about 7 before we'd end up getting frag'd when one of us *Cough* Me... *Cough* tried to help with a crisis at his windows, which could be handled, and letting zombies in on my side.

Also, how many damned knife hits can those suckers take?! I think that three stabs can kill one. Now, what about the Japanese bayonet rifle? That kill 'em off in one hit?
