As you all might know I am working on some weapons (HK MK23 and the M99). However I had problems with the animations. This isn`t really a problem anymore. Jack-Carver is now animating and the animations look really really good. This incouraged me to continue my work. I will not realease all the weapons in single but i will realease a whole weaponback. It will include the MK23, the M99, the Scrar H, and a funny and special grenade launcher. If everything works fine it will be released in 2 weeks.

The MK23's texture looks pretty funky though (too bumpy), and I'm not sure how a a single-shot .50 cal sniper would compare against the Railgun (also it's texture looks kinda cartoonish compared to the old textures. Still looks sweet, though.

That Barrett's looking pretty good.
The MK23 texture looks a bit odd, though. It doesn't look much like gun metal in its current state.

heh, since UT2004 don't support bumpmaps(I think, correct me if I'm wrong), the Pistol looking too bumpy isn't even a problem

And for the Railgun problem... you can always don't allow the Railgun in the game or put it so that it is difficult to get.
or make the .50 more easy to find too.

People always complaining that we dont need this weapon blah blah blah...
More weapons = more fun, if you dont like it you can always turn it off.

Yea I know but UT 2004 doesnt support bump mapping so that should not be a problem.

I will see what I can do on the texture, maybe some scratches or something like that
@Railgun:
The Railgun needs a long time to load up its full power so it has an very long effective realod time

I actually liked the older Barrett skin better. I think it would look best in green with a metallic shine overlay.
MK23 looks nice without the bump mapping. The bumpiness didn't look too good on it.


I have a feeling that BW is going to get much better with two .50 cal sniper rifles in it, though.

I think 'bump' mapping might be possible for the gun actually. Just make it an overlay using Photoshop, then attach it to the main texture (one layer in other words). Although... a bit less on the bumpiness would work better... This is probably harder to do than I think it might be...

Olive drab looks good on the Barrett, it only needs to look grittier now.

I agree with DK on this one. A grittier feel on the Barrett would be nice.

I like the pistol, you've done it pretty well.

Don't forget to add a mount function (it does have a bi-pod after all) and the necessary code for Ballistic Conflict... This (and the other Barrett sniper rifle) is gonna rock!!!

Yea shure I will make the Bi pod and I also will improve the texture of the M99.
Update MK23:
Reload and Cock animatons are now finished. So I still need the Fire, Idle and Put out and in animation but they are not that hard.

How much further do you need to get done? Just checkin' up is all!

Methinks Sgt. Kelly should coordinate with fische11 on how their Barretts would balance out (in terms of damage, reload speed and movement speed reduction).

Suggestion:
Since fische11's Barrett is bolt-action, it should reload a tad slower than Kelly's, but a bit of increase in damage should make up for it.
