I also updated the Gauss Rifle, but forgot to put the new version there! it has lots of improvements!
and UglyPants, you must see my first model. god that thing was totally out of proportion! the clip looked like a submachine gun magazine(with 5 bullets), but it was a sniper and the barrel was simply huge, something like a .50!
I'm preparing something very special too...

How long have you been working on these models? They are really good. Are you going to release these as a weapon pack?

well, I only began making better models this year...
the DE was difficult to make, since I couldn't make that part on the barrel, where it becomes from a cylinder to a square!
the Benelli shotgun(http://www.bwcommunity.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=213) which I posted in another thread in BWCommunity was made in about one day. the crossbow took one night and few hours.
most weapons take about 1-2 days to make, although the DE, to reach how it is, took about 3 days I think...

about releasing them in a weapon pack, I would like, but I don't know how to animate, and my coding knowledge would easily make a Bug pack
but who knows which surprises life will make to us...


and about showing them in DA... heh, I don't think they're really polished, considering that there is a lot of modellers out there that are better than me.

That's no reason to not use Deviantart as a gallery to show off your models to the whole world

what program are you using?
im using blender and the only thing i made so far is a retarded, fail-at-life HL2 SMG lookalike.
im practicing but i mostly get sidetracked playing TF2 or effin around in Gmod.

He uses Blender as well.

Heck, I prefer Blender than Maya when it comes to modeling.

Nice update on the Gauss Rifle. Have you thought of putting a flashlight or something on the side?

the problem is that I think it will not fit the weapon role. it's more like a Sniper/Battle Rifle...so it's more efficient a laser sight or a laser dot. which the model has, btw

Yeah, flashlight on the pistol would be pretty sick, we dont have many of those

The flashlight could be used as an auxiliary weapon to blind enemies and se in the dark with a weapon in the other hand, the other tip is use the light as a blind trap, very useful in some entrances
Flashlight isn't a weapon but it can be useful used as a reusable flash device .

the software used by Runestorm is maya, but what version of maya is used and I think I will try to make something with blender, because it's easier than many 3d softwares to use

Actually, RuneStorm uses 3DS Max, not Maya.

3ds max costs a lot, no ?, i think i should stay with blender it's free and the rendering is good

I was looking at the Gauss Rifle again. What about placing a small shield or something on it with just a small slot/slit for the scope? I was playing Army of Two on the Xbox 360 a few moments ago. Such an attachment would be pretty cool.

First on the left, the ballistic shield attached to the gun. This might make the Gauss rifle greater at close quarters and greater for sniping.

good idea... though I'll not put it in the Gauss rifle, maybe I'll put it in a machinegun!
