Well that's some pretty harsh words there Bjossi. I'm not gonna get into an argument over it though, but I'll just say you probably should do some research into the community if you haven't already. There are many who are perfectly normal, just like any other group of people.

Well, I'm only speaking for myself, and I know enough about the subject to feel confident about my opinion.

But better stick to the original subject which is FaH. I'll try to get a team created soon so those who are interested can start contributing to our personal Runestorm team. We won't reach the top few thousand teams even in our wildest dreams but I think it'll be fun to compete inside the team for the highest ranks.

Like me, I can brag about how my computer is so much more awesome than Bjossi's computer because Ive only been in this for a month or so and I'm already only 7 places behind Bjossi in team ranking, and he's been folding much longer than me.

Since July last year, to be precise.

So how does this work? What's the team number?

Each team has an ID number. When you're configuring the folding client (happens automatically on first run) you'll have the option to type a team ID, that means all the points you score with that particular client will add to that team's total.

With this in mind you could contribute to as many teams as the processing cores (CPU & GPU) in your system, since you run separate clients for each particular core.

I'll see what i can do, but i'm not promising anything.

By the way bjossi, i suggest you watch what you say on the fur topic, i'm on that site and i've met some truly good people on there. please don't sterotype us all to be messed up "fur wackos" its not nice.

And i'm not a furry, i just find it intresting. just thought i'd point that out.

Hmm... well, I tend get in excess of one thousand points a day, but I'm at approx. 17,000 while Bjossi is 53,000. I got a while, but I'll pass him.

Anyway, I'll look into Folding at Home again. I remember talking to you about this a while ago. I have a computer around the same speed as Xav's, so I would be able to help.

It would be great to have you on board, a RS team needs some fast folders, and I'm not one of them.



I'd expect you to make more points in a single day, the GPU alone is well above 1k PPD even if it gets nothing but heavy WUs to work on throughout the day. Maybe it is your network connection delaying the return of results to collection servers? They do weigh quite a bit.

Anyway, regardless of this you'll pass me pretty soon, late March I'd estimate.

Well, I probably get over 1000 a day, its just that I can confirm 1000, dunno how much more I get past that. But yes, internet connection does slow me down quite a bit.

I'm thinking of getting the program, but I doubt my computer would ever get anything done because I'm always on it and it's running super slow already as of late... damn virus I can't figure how to delete...

Fun fact: FA's team is 122, with 866 members. I just noticed that and felt like saying that since it's something on-topic with this thread.

If you can't delete malware and computer is slow, reformat.

As soon as I find my XP discs, I'm redoing the entire system actually. I know my computer has a virus, but it's that one that even the judicial court systems were having trouble with. They probably reinstalled XP from scratch to fix it.

But yeah.... viruses suck and don't help with my thoughts of trying out these folding programs.

You are technically ready to fold, but as you said it is probably not worth it if your system is crippled by a virus. Better reformat and start fresh, I couldn't believe how much faster my system got after doing that, and I have never had any viruses or malware invading it.

Ended up getting the thing installed anyways while I watched 24. I got 4/200 during that hour, so I feel it works for the most part when I'm not around.
