Behold! The rare and glorious red HMC-117!



As you can see in the lower right corner, the extreme heat of this HMC laser is beginning to overload the unfortunate gun.

Nice screenie there Sgt. Kelly. Rehauling the HMC? I kinda liked the blue colour. Then again are you turning the HMC into something completely new?

Both the red and blue HMCs will be available for standard play.

It should be noted that the new modular HMCs change depending on what gameplay mode is currently active. The one in the picture is a moderate-heat, high powered HMC with electroshock and heat beam attack modes.

Is the HMC 117 the blue laser gun that you have to charge up and then fire? I kept thinking you could hold back shooting until you wanted to...the amout of times I charged up power only to unwittingly release it into a bulkhead...is the new red one going to be similar?

I find the secondary fire much more useful than the primary one for that exact reason.

Wait, i just had a great idea! A tennis racket! And Semtex Darts!
Just throwing out ideas, nothing special. Check em out.

Tennis Racket:

Primary: swipe, depending on fire mode
Secondary key: Charge swipe, depending on fire mode
Ability: Smack Grenades and rockets away!
Fire modes: swipe, lob, top spin

This could just be a fun weapon.

Semtex Darts:
Primary: Throw Dart, explosive.
Secondary key: Stab. Sticks into person, does 10 damage?
Special key: detonate
Ability: put it on remote detonation, then watch the fireworks!
Fire modes: 3 seconds, impact, remote detonate

And maybe for fun, a lightsaber, or fire hose? Or maybe drugs? like you take a drug, and you get a power, like telekinesis or fireballs?

(BTW, for people who don't know what Semtex is, it is something like a sticky bomb, or grenade)

waffle shake: I don't know much about modding, but I think it would be very hard to make the tennis racket reflect grenades and rockets.
As for the drugs, I have no idea. There is the adrenaline already.
Hmm... the firehose would be nice, even in team games (kill the flames on a burning team-mate, or even on yourself).
The semtex dart is a good idea, so is the lightsaber (it would cut people in half like the Golden GRSXX's secondary fire).

Hmm... yes, good point. A lightsaber could just be a re-skinned katana with insane damage. uh, Semtex could be the remote explosives remodeled and has the ability to throw quite fast.

And the fire hose could extinguish fires and dilute the fuel that the flamethrower spews out. Heh, and have fire hose wars. Makeshift jetpack. get someone to shoot the tank on your back, you fly up but take no damage when it explodes, or just a little.

Fists would be cool. It clould have a special attack that makes you grab someones gun if you get close enough. But you just get the ammo that is left in the gun, not the spare ammo because the ammo is carried on the body of the player, not the gun. If that would be possible.

The ChaosUT guys did it with kicking. There's got to be a way. You'd need a good coder, though.

You can kick grenades in BW too.

Yep, both rely on the spartan laser principal of charge fully before shoot.

And yeah, in BW you can kick grenades around and even in default UT I believe the shield gun can deflect link projectiles.

Wait, how do you kick in BW? And would anyone be able to do a Semtex dart for this pack? Sarge? Or a crossbow that fires them! but make the crossbow a modern day type, no plasma stuff, that is, if your going to do all this stuff.

Any way, How do you kick? Would Sarge be up for a Semtex Dart, or a crossbow that shoots them.
Oh yeah, and the drug powers? like something that would cycle around with quad damage.

Run up to a grenade on the ground and press use. If you do it right (the timing can be iffy) you should kick it away. The distance it's kicked depends on how fast you're moving when you kick it.

I've always wanted to do a crossbow with multiple ammo types. (Explosive, toxic, flame, steel, etc.) I need a model with animations though.

And drugs are 'technically' in. You become pretty badass after picking up a berserk medical pack.

I'm updating from Vista to Windows 7 today, so I might lose all of my data.

If worst comes to worst, I'll simply give you guys the link to the current beta.

Different drugs i meant. Like one that allows you to pick things up. Like incoming rockets. or grenades. And i might be able to make a model for a crossbow. Doubt i will have any time though with all this school work. I just need a little bit of help but im sure that you guys will *cough* help.

Nah, flashdrives don't have enough space and I bet those internet sites cost money.

Anyway, Windows 7 migration complete! Deus Ex unfortunately died in the process, but UT2004 seems to be living the high life. This OS runs significantly faster than Vista.
