Agreed. I still play THE Unreal Tournament.

The Pulse Gun design is interesting compared to the UT2003/2004 series: mini rotating barrels, sounds*, the side LED screen, etc. It is the rapid fun gun!

I find the UT's Rocket Launcher slightly weaker, but at least has the grenade launcher as its Unreal compartment. (Even the UT has a WORKING LED than the UT2003/2004)

The Ripper is awesome, especially the kill message that gets me.

The Shock Rifle is not as annoying unlike in the UT2kx series.

The Enforcer is stronger than the [insert insult here] assault rifle. Its dual weld is more like a dual-welded weapon than the UT2k4 assault rifle.

I can't remember how i found this site, but, it is very helpful when in comes to the Unreal/UT series.

UT's sounds, music and art design blow UT200x/UT3 out of the water and all the way to Alpha Centauri.

Unreal Tournament will always be better than the others.

They released some lame-ass Editor's choice edition, but I wasn't aware that it made GOTY. UT99 showed it off very nicely.

Lame-Ass? That version had all the stuff I needed to make stuff for UT04!

Plus I think it said game of the year and all that razz on the back of the case. But no GOTY edition was released, you're right there. Kinda forgot about that.

Another weapon from UT99 that is awesome... the Crossbow.

It's from Chaos UT, like the Flak 2, the proxy mines, the Claw, the bastard sword the armor shards, the CAS 12, the chaos snipers, the CUT utility gun and such things, some maps features already ChaosUT Items.

Chaos UT was first Chaos Quake for Quake 2 and after it become Chaos UT for UT 99, 2kX, but UT 3 doesn't have anything yet and perhaps wouldn't have its chaos mode but who knows ...

Well I thought it was lame-ass. Mainly because I didn't notice it and ended up buying the normal version, causing me to have to download it on my shit 56k internet connection.
It would have been SO MUCH EASIER if they had GOTY.

And that is why UT99 is superior. All it lacks is ragdoll physics.

But in my opinion, Unreal 1 music still wins over UT music. Sunspire music brings back memories

But yeah, UT Art is direction was better than UT3. UT was much more "unreal". It had a much larger selection of maps, each really diferent. Besides, it wasn't desaturated...

And the weapons and sounds in UT completely destroy the weapons in UT2004. even in U1 there was hands, UT2004 mind-controlled weapons were really bad :/

Also, UT is still fun to play.

I think they should use body awareness actually they can grant good quality weapons in "3rd person" ...
For UT 2Kx I think they wanted to make a mix of UT99 and Q3 too much things reminds me Q3 mostly in UT2k3
the AR in UT 2k3 can't be dropped after death like the machine gun in Q3
the rocket launcher in red like the Q3 counter part
the non presence of the hands in the weapons like the Q3 weapons

UT99 is the best in the series of UT. Classic Unreal and UT99 we're the first and best. U2 was not unreal.. Ut2k4/2k3/ut3 were not unreal.. Shoulda been called "Average Tournament 2003", etc..

I'm however very grateful to UT3 for the MSUC

Sadly, there are some people who do not want to capture of UT. No matter how old or outdated it is, you can't beat the original.

Just played it today with a friend.
Even though it was his first time in UT99, he managed to do pretty well.
UT99, even though it is fast paced and all, isn't hard to learn. in our last match he was even jumping around like a UT player
