I got bored, and from that boredom, I decided to learn Blender.

This is the first coherent model I've produced (For BW, I've got a semi-coherent one for Freelancer)



It's a mix between a USP Matches pistol and a USSOCOM pistol

As you can see, the model's not quite done yet, but it's on it's way.

I did a quick adjustment, and now the gun has a sight and round ejection system thingy*:

*It's the part where when you pull the slide the bullets come out. Not too clear on the proper term

Remember any moving parts have to be a different object.

EDIT: OK, turns out making the slide and rest-of-gun-so-far into 2 seperate objects wasn't so hard after all. All I did was duplicate the gun into 2 identical objects, delete the slide on one and the rest-of-gun-so-far on the other.

I've also added a few other adjustments:

* There is now a space for the Hammer (will make that as a new object, to save time later on)
* There is now a space for the Clip to go (Again, will make as a new object)
* Added a little detail for under the slide
* Added 'weight' to the slide (Before it was 2D faces, now it's even more 2D faces, some of which cover the holes where you could see it was 2D faces)
* Round Ejection Hole* in the slide moved further forward

This means the final model will be in 5 parts:

Gun
Slide
Hammer
Trigger
Clip

I am kinda worried that the slide goes too far back now, though. I've included a picture of the slide at it's furthest back, for reference. Any thoughts?

Right. I've just finished the trigger, clip and hammer.

I've also used Blender's inbuilt Material designator to show the basic colour pattern of the gun, once it's textured.

I recently found the Add Cylinder option, and using it I've added a few more details.

I added a gun barrel to the nose, a lens to the tactical light on the botton, and a button with which to operate the light.

(The button's not a new object, I figured that it wasn't worth it)

I'm nearing completion of this model. If anyone wants to have a go at texturing and/or animating it for BW, I could certainly use the help. I'll handle the coding part.

Looking good! The magazine is a bit blocky though. I would recommend looking for reference pics on the internets.

Right. I've taken another crack at the clip, and come up with this.

I wouldn't be surprised now if the clip has more vertexes than the slide.

I know. Since I made that pic, I've optimised the slide significantly.

Small update.

Since I realised that a spent clip wouldn't still have a round in it, I've created 2 new objects. One is the clip without the round on top, the other is a round.

You may have noticed I changed the thread title. Well, it's because I'm going to use this thread to showcase ALL my models, not just the USP-SOCOM.

However, this requires more than one model, so I present the Skrith Spikebomb.

The Spikebomb fills the role of both the Skrith's primary grenade, and their det. packs. The Spikebomb can be thrown like a normal grenade, or using the spikes on the bottom of the device, can be inserted into a solid surface and then triggered. The spikes then keep the device firmly attached until it explodes.

The dial on the top allows the user to set the timer for 3, 5 or 7 seconds, depending on the need. The button on the very top starts the timer.

A new day, and a new project. This one's a larger and more ambitious model, being an assault rifle.

It's not done yet as I've yet to start the stock, but so far it's looking... well, I'm not going to lie, it looks damn ugly. But, it should look better once I get the stock on and add some details.

I think the barrel is to wide for the gun itself.

I've shrunk the barrel assembly size, and adjusted the shape of the forward area.

Next, I'm going to work on the stock.

OK, after much thought, I've decided to scrap the entire assault rifle and start anew.

And this is the result so far:

I've been working on the rifle model a bit more, and also have a back story to it.

*ahem*

Back when the Skrith were conquering human colonies, it was found that the resistance groups trying to take back said colonies often were thwarted by equipment issues, namely due to inexperience in using and maintaining the weapons they had managed to acquire.

A solution was needed. A solution provided by Dr. Alexander Stukov, a scientist working with *insert company here*, who designed a rifle that could be built with littne cost, maintained with little experience and used with little training. This rifle was named after him, and the GP-00 Stukov assault rifle was born.

Models of the early Stukovs were known for their simplicity and reliability, with one rifle even surviving a Skrith attack that glassed an entire planet.

Once the Skrith retreated, and the war won, many soldiers hung onto their Stukov rifles out of pure sentiment. This was when the company realised the immense market possibilities for Stukov addon components.



The rifle seen here is a GP-22v5 Stukov variant, with a custon stock and sight system, as well as a magazine holster for quick reloading. The gun is a 22 variant as up to the date that this one was manufactured, only 22 of the countless millions of Stukov rifles that have been manufactured and distributed have been known to have 'died'. Of those 22, 19 of them were involved in ionised disintegration events, 2 in haphazard modification accidents, and one as a result of total equipment failure due to a manufacturing error in the firing pin.

EDIT: Yes, I know it doesn't have a trigger. That's next on my list of things to do.

More progress on the Stukov.

I've added a trigger, adjusted a few things here and there, moulded the stock a bit and adjusted the bolt. I've also added a round ejection system (hole in the gun where the spent shells pop out)




However, I've come across a bit of a problem. I'm not quite sure how to attach the front handgrip to the reciever. Right now, they're joined by the barrels, extended back pretty far.

Any ideas on what I could do to change this?

More progress. I've made several adjustments to the back stock and handgrip.

Been a while, but I've made some more adjustments to my pistol, as well as started work on a new model.

First up, we have the USP-Socom mashup one listed earlier in the thread. I've added that strange bumpy-thing they have near the stock that I'm not sure what does, adjusted the slide and redone the base of the magazine.
