Lol that's not only PMG people

in some game forums they pretty much say that mostly when talking about "realism" but in games it doesn't matter you cal it clip or mag or drum or anything since the magazine cap is only the amount of bullets available to shoot before reloading.
The weapon design and anims are the things that makes the weapon more believable

For video games it's really a matter of preference. For all you know the gun might actually use massive 100 round stripper clips ingame.

Anyway, games have used clip and magazine interchangeably for a very long time. It's a non-issue. Back in Duke Nukem 64 you could pick up Pistol Clips or Rocket Clips. Sure it's unrealistic and sure the MG33 actually uses a hi-capacity drum magazine, but I don't really care about that when I'm simply addressing a balance/preference issue on a virtual gun.

Sentence diction aside, we'll probably have a new beta up this weekend. Expect to see the bulldog and some other balance tweaks.

Then again, because of Loadout Evolution I'm not terribly concerned about balance. I just give underpowered weapons lower stats and powerful weapons higher stats.

Is the bulldog the last gun in the lineup to be added? Or are there still more guns in this weapon pack to be seen?

(Man, all this makes me want to get into UT2004 mapping again. Still got all my old maps from last time which I finished but never released because I thought no one played UT2004 anymore)

Well, we're hoping we don't add much more, as we're more concerned with getting it done than making more weapons, but sometimes one of us gets an idea in our head and we can't get rid of it till' we see its completion.

As far as I know, we're not planning on adding more weapons at this time.

And also, do you suppose you could send me or Sgt. Kelly your info for the Evolution stats? I'd need to check it out, but I believe its in a Ballistic.ini file. I'm not sure off hand if Sgt. Kelly has all the evo stats set up for the weapons, but if you got the info, we can make sure we got more of them set up.

Also, I kinda wanna play Evolution again, but I never got around to configuring all the stuff.

Sure but note that my stats are configured for invasion, that means high kill requirements, time requirements that sync with invasion waves etc.

if you want stats preferable for DM, you still need to do some tweaking, but the good news is, I use the evolution scaling mutator to multiply the values rather than give them enormous numbers so you should only need to drop the time and kill requirements slightly.

Works like this:

Melee weapons and Pistols are readily available
SMG's and heavy pistols require various stats but not much.
Sniper Rifles require only long range efficiency
Rifles require both long and short range efficiency
Versatile Assault rifles and energy weapons require a bit of everything.
Except the CYLO's they just need a ton of general efficiency
Shotguns require a lot of short range efficiency.
Grenade launchers and flamethrowers need both short range and explosive efficiency
Rocket launchers need both long range and explosive efficiency
Machine guns and miniguns require a lot of everything
Non-BW weapons are not included

I love whipping out the dual sawnoffs and blasting people apart, on some DM-Blackhawk map.

Some Statements that i'm sure you are aware of...

-The CAWS/FLASH/AWE all use SM\At\Aa recoilless rifle model with a weird reload thingy, but that is going to be fixed time in the future right?

-SKAS assault shotty is a beast! Big ups to whoever mooted that, But alas it uses another model pic in the menu? (probably sounding like some annoying anal perfectionist, i know it's beta) Love the Circle mag around the handle too.

-GL's are lookin good so far. Model gon' be Over Under? and 6 shot is gonna be like the Miklor MGL? i love the look of those things.

-Bulldog looks like a jizz machine. 'Nuff said.

-SRS mod 2's and Ls14's bots fire at supermegahyperomegagammabuttercheese automatic? Pain in the butt on godlike but hey what isn't

-speaking of that, the no scoped rifles are a nice addition.

-Dual stealth tranq pistol has two hands on each pistol. (four hands?)

-I have a sexy idea for a weapon but you are probably getting sh*tloads of them and of course denying them so i'll leave it to the professionals

-Can you verify which guns gonna have which models? or do i just stick to the page one Jpegs?

The CAWS, FLASH and Awe are all going to get their own quad-barrel rocket launcher model. But that model isn't finished yet. SKAS still isnt done either.

I hear that the weapon icons come dead last. So we probably have to wait until the mod is out of beta before see them for all the guns

Personally I hope the MGL is modeled more like the Grenade launcher in Crysis.

Also it is well known fact that the bots often cheat the fire rate of semi-automatic weapons. They do it for pretty much all of the weapons. I don't think anyone really knows how to fix it.

OK so it appears that the bots can not only shoot 2 green balls of doom from the EV 9000 but also shoot up to 5 shells a time with the SMA/AT....Overkill level a tad above golden gun's

ALSO noticed a few things by using a weapon bar mod

Can carry around at the same time

2 M781 automatic shotguns

3 RS04 pistols (ones with flashlights)

2 golden guns

2 EV 9000

And I think thats about it

Also the whole thing with the skrith blaster overload thing....Is it even posible to fill up the damn gauge ?

And for its secondary fire could you make it a "repair" weapon ?
Would be much appreciated...

The skrith blaster alt fire will be a close range disorienting sonic/light based attack that probably wouldn't be able to repair vehicles. Primary fire probably will like all the other skrith weapons.

Been playing around a bit more with this after I downloaded all the UCMP maps.

I am beginning to think the fist mutator should include an option to enable or disable the berserk combo's influence on the fists so that other melee weapons can have a chance at being useful.

I say that because I like the idea of having the fists always available at all times but in the Invasion gametype (which I usually play) it is pretty easy to reach berserk mode and just beat the ever loving shit out of all the monsters for the first several waves without any need for any of the other melee weapons.

Of course I cant trust myself to just *not* use fists because diving into a crowd of 40 monsters and crushing all their skulls single handedly (literally) is too awesome to resist :violence-smack:

Heh, just had a thought: Instead of the fists gibbing the target, wouldnt it be funny if a punch sent the body flying really high into the air? Image how that would look if you went berserk into a bunch of bots and started tossing their ragdolls around the room.

Yay Bulldog!

Its kinda like a more accurate AH107 with an extended clip. I ranked it in with the machine guns in terms of stats and positioned it below the Squad machine gun (Kabs version) and the MG33.

It's more powerful than the MG33 and most of the assault rifles but has less range and versatility. I found it wasn't as effective as the other machine guns (at least Kaboodle's versions anyway) though still potent

What does secondary fire do?

I pretty much made it in mind to be a viable option for taking out vehicles while still being practical as an anti-infantry weapon (actually, that's a lie, I designed it for Invasion as an option to take out big nasties without having to reload constantly taking out the little critters

).

While I haven't tried Sgt. Kelly's update yet (dial up prevents me from getting updates to the very mod I'm working on! ARGH!), the secondary fire is supposed to rack in a FRAG-12 shell from the mag tube on top and then fire the grenade off. I don't know exactly how its implemented in this version though.

Hmm, I think I broke secondary fire shortly before I uploaded it. If it's not shooting anything after cocking then that is indeed the case.

Yeah, the secondary fire isnt functioning on the bulldog. I thought it was a bug at first but then since the release is an updated beta, I thought you'd reserved the secondary fire for something great but held it back for a future release.[ Grenades!

It's not broken, you just have to hold down the alt fire instead of tapping it.

According to my files BWWeaponPack-Tex comes from 2010_01_26_PackBetaV3.rar

Seems the Sarge is borrowing data from the Fishe11 and Jack Carvers weapon pack. Kelly, whatever sounds or texture you are using you should probably bundle them in into your own collection so people don't need to download "dependency" weapon packs

Oops. TraceEmitter_Bulldog is using Texture'BWWeaponPack-Tex.M99.M99SmokeCore' instead of Texture'BWBPRecolors3.Bulldog.BulldogSmokeCore'. That texture is the one I made for Jack's M99 and for the Bulldog. It's linking to the wrong one. I'll fix it this weekend.

As you guys know, I made a lot of the effects and code for Jack's pack (M99 trail, DE world model, weapon specs, etc) so there's no borrowing going on.
