Its all a matter of time and help, which we don't have enough of. Currently, I am the only animator for all these packs (Blade Hunter is learning though), and poor Sgt. Kelly not only does almost all the coding, but he's the only texture artist too.

We have an MP40 model that will make it in the next pack, but really, we don't got any SMGs modeled or designed. If you got some suggestions, by all means post them, but they won't make it in this release, at this point we won't be adding any more so we can just finish it.

Come now, that's a completely arbitrary distinction to make. The Fifty-9 and XRS-10 (like all guns) are both supposed to be fired two-handed, and the default XK2 can be fired with one.

The names literally mean nothing, you know. The UMP in HK UMP .45 stands for universal machine pistol. The MP in MP44 also stands for machine pistol. Both of those are large weapons.

A red-dot sighted MP5 is not going to happen, since the XK2 is already the BW MP5. Sorry bud.

The correct description is MkB 42 - Maschinenkarabiner 42 for the version developed and provided for/in Stalingrad

or Stg44 - Sturmgewehr 44 for the latest version of this type.

Both are never developed as Machine Pistole and they arent MPs, they are Machine Carbines.
Both uses the Infanteriespitz 7.98 instead of usual 7,2mm or 9 mm flat pistol rounds.

Well yes, I know that. However the designation it was given to fool/appease Hitler was indeed Maschinenpistole. Last I checked though, the Mkb 42 was not the same as the MP44/STG44 and is not the version I'm referencing.

The "real" MP44 came never to the frontlines. Its an experiment of Heitra, ordered by the WaffenSS, to port the 9mm rounds to fit in the Stg44 design.

But your right, the Weapon was secondly named as MP [MP43/Stg44]to fit the requirement of the Heeresleitung from 1942, which didnt fit the real war requirments anymore.

I for one don't understand why they wouldn't allow machine-carbines but were actively developing such monstrosities as the soinc weapons, railway guns and Maus tanks. High command must have been having fun.

The problem or mystery you consider, is caused by the age of the officers that time - obstacles to innovation-, by the missing ability of research officers to present new technologies and also the production cost or missing factory capacities.

Same problem we had with many other war instruments like tanks, airplanes or even marine stuffs.

It seems that the version number scheme changed drastically in the last two versions, if all older versions had taken as long as V9 the project would have needed to start in the early 1990s.

I might be stupid, but after I patched BW to 2.5, all the weapons from this mod were put in the "non-bw" category in the load out screen. They vanished from the swapping selection.

What did I do wrong?

Hi guys! I found a small bug. I play with my blue team bots, and here is the bug: all the weapons shows a blue hand, but when I play with the SKAS Shotgun or the SRAC Autocannon the hand isn't blue.

And the melee slash mode from the Cylo UAW sometimes not work after reload.

Well, I just tested the 3 new weapons:

Gauss-Gun Thingy:
I like it.
It's like a faster M99 and has lots of ammo.
I guess, that weapon will be overpowered at community matches.

Tech Assault-Rifle:
Now, that's original!
A laser/plasma Assault-Rifle with Masterkey shotgun attachement!
That'll be my favourite assault rifle now!
Although the shotgun is risky to use, because it has to reload.

Combat Shotgun:
It's like the SKAS. Only worse.
This weapon is way too beta to rate.

eh, the gauss just seems like an already-done thing, but that's probably cause one of the various assault rifles has a fire mode like that already. Personally, I feel it didn't need to be its own thing, especially if that's all it offers.

I'm also not too thrilled with the new CYLO-E supercharger, mainly in that it deals way too much damage (15 per bolt tick) and doesn't get a chance to explode people to death before the lightning kills them. SADFACE. The lightning should do piss poor damage until the charge builds up and explodes, which kills the crap out of them. As it is, I just don't have much of a use for it.

Oh, the energy assault rifle with the shotgun though... MMM. Me likey. Very cool. It may be just me, but I had to use three shotgun blasts to kill a bot, it might need to do some more damage. But definitely one of my new favourite toys. An assault rifle that has a nice little surprise if they get too close. Very nice. I hope that's a placeholder model though, it's kind of starting to get worn out by now.

Any chance the laser carbine can do more damage? It's a laser, and 22 damage for a body shot just... doesn't cut it too well. Definitely a lousy weapon for invasion against the monsters, which is really too bad, since it's SO awesome looking and has a great feel to it. I'd just like it to be a lot deadlier is all. Double barrel mode does 66 damage, but if it's twice the barrels, why does it overheat about six times as fast? I can only get about three rapid fire shots off before it overheats and has to cool down, vs the 15 or so I can get with single barrel, before it starts to slow down (you can get another three or so before it overheats totally.) The double barrel overheat is definitely out of proportion with the damage output.

The flashlight special on the XR4 is broken. It comes on, but stays in one place when you move your aim. Also changing fire modes breaks primary fire and you have to toss the weapon and pick it up to fix it.

The XR4 has a flashlight? I actually didn't know that. It must have inherited it from some base class.

Though remember that these guns are indeed prototypes. Half of them will never see the light of day and were simply coded up for my amusement.

By the way, the LS14 single shot actually does 47 damage per shot while the double only does 67. The primary fire is far more efficient in both damage output and barrel heat. Not only does single generate less heat, (the second barrel gets time to cool and the weapon doesn't have to work to charge both beam arrays), it's also extremely accurate and far, far easier to aim than its cousin the SRS-M2. (Which it also beats in terms of fire rate and damage.)

So yeah, that gun is actually a beast. It even has a 3-shot friggen' rocket launcher!

I'd love a (separate) version that doesn't have to heat up/cool down, and you can just go apeshit berserk with it. Don't even have to change the damage it deals! Please? I'll beg if I have to, and I don't think anybody wants to see that. It'd be so awesome for when I play on the LAN with my bro.

Also, I don't know where the 47 comes from, shooting my bot teammates (I'm a jerk in the name of testing! And just in general, as I shoot them any other time I feel like it) only deals them 22 damage for a body shot...

Well 22 is the limb damage, are you sure you're shooting them in the chest?

I might not have been, it's hard to tell just by looking sometimes. My testing consists only of what I can see, but oftentimes I do or at least attempt stuff nobody else thinks of gameplay wise, so I've been referred to as a good tester before. Was a while ago too though...

(Often times in sci-fi, Star Trek especially, you'll see someone who finds a "relic from the past" ie. a bullet-spitting handgun, blow his way through highly shielded targets, simply because the shields were built to withstand the energy weapons, and not kinetic ones. That's what I'm getting at with the weapon description.)

Shots to chest almost always dealing limb damage is a well known issue and the reason I equalised limb and body damage back in the v2.1 version of BWPro. Recoil, inherent weapon inaccuracy, aim deviation, ping and Ut2004 movespeed make the distinction pointless and annoying for all weapons except sniper rifles.
