The plasma ball from the CYLO Experimental Rifle hurts when is fired. This is my favourite weapon! Please, do not change it! Perhaps a white texture (such as UT3 link gun) will stay cool!

@Reivaj, the alternate fire changes when you use the other firemode. Try it, it's awesome!

Hey Vani! I mean the secondary fire from the CYLO Experimental Rifle in its two fire mode types (Energy Accelerator Matrix and Ion Impulse Array). When I fire, I hurt myself with the plasma ball.

The other weapon is the CYLO XM Supercharger, the plasma ball also hurt me in the Ion Impulse Array secondary fire mode. And its Energy Accelerator Matrix fire mode, the plasma ball no hurt myself.

Two awesome weapons! And the MB46 Tech Rifle too!

By the way... nobody can make a weapon based on laser technology in this prototype pack? (Red laser I mean).

It's better to wait that some model is being done.
also there is the EP 90 who is a leser pistol, LS 14 who is official laser rifle and the explosive MG who is a laser one.

By they way, why are some of those guns golden?

In previous unreal games, an item called the Shield Belt existed, which granted 150 points of non penetrable armour and overlaid the player with a teamcoloured opaque shielding effect. When there are no teams this effect is yellow or golden.

Yup, shortly realized that not long after I posted.

I recall the shield belt from UT99 but the overlay wasn't totally opaque in that version, hence why I didn't recognize it here

This is not really a BETA. It's the complete Unreal 1 with Return to Na Pali package, but their maps are mixed and blended to provide a continuous action.

And you can select if you like remixes old songs, saving, options and much more...

Looks like the download is broken into smaller parts, that makes it easier. Still going to be a nightmarish download though. My flatmates are probably playing D&D online right now, they'd be pissed if I lagged them with a download this long.

How about you turn the scope bug into a feature by making the scope only available if the player is under the effect of the double damage? Just an idea, though.

I had this idea once.
But I think it doesn't work with the M14, because you don't look through the scope directly when U-Damage is activated, so it's more irritating than helpful.

Also the effect doesn't look that nice... is there a way to change it?

Modelling issue, only fix is new models from RS with a scope bone that can be shrunk, which won't happen. Adding scope when UDamage or Invis is on = cheap hack

Don't care about that, it's prototype and I'm in charge of its model who will be different than a modified G5
It will have iron sights on it so no more scope bug or anything when the model will be done

Had some more time to playing around with this. Having some more thoughts.

Fusion Pistol:
I sort of wish the alt-fire behaved more like a grenade rather than a very power bullet. The Fusion pistol already has charged shots as a fire mode. The secondary could be made to be a bit more different. I'm thinking the fusion pistol alt fire should be the same as the CYLO Supercharger alt fire, releasing an explosive projectile that uses up the entire clip. Or perhaps just give it a damage radius since it already appears to release an explosion if you release secondary against a wall.

Also the charged mode on the fusion pistol should have a more impressive impact on walls, more blue sparks should do it

CAWS:
It's kinda odd how it uses normal shotgun ammo when it fires massive flak shells. Can it have its own ammo type? Please?

PK2000:
I know the model is on its way but is there any chance we can give it a placeholder model other than the UT2004 AR? Any of the BW machine pistols will do. I just really wish I could reload the thing.

GRS1:
Since it doesn't have a secondary fire I wonder if we could make the akimbo thing a secondary ability rather than a sighting ability. This could potentially allow the weapon to be fired sideways while dual wielding. Remember how you could to that in UT99? Remember how cool it looked? Yea that's what I am going for here. Since the weapon has no sights, just disable sights completely.

Supercharger:
Making someone explode with primary fire is actually really hard. I remember in the previous versions it did less damage but detonated sooner. It never struck me as overpowered since it relied on you having the skill to hold your aim solidly on a target without knowing if you were going to get any gain out of that in then next 3 seconds. Should it be changed back or do I just suck with the thing?

Tech rifle:
This thing is awesome! Really hope it makes it into V10. You know what it needs? The burst fire from the XR4 ( ,a more balanced form of)

The Gauss rifles:
You could probably merge these into one weapon. Unless you plan on adding more unique differences between them

The MGL:
Are you sure you don't want to increase the fire rate? I can reload it at almost the same rate as it can be fired, making it seem like it doesn't need reloading. Also I still don't like the fire sound

Misc:
My random thought for the day; what would happen if you added a Ut2004 style shield as an ability for one of the weapons? I wonder how that would pan out. Something for the XR4 maybe?

BTW: I mention the XR4 so much because I like the concept of an energy rifle that focuses on the secondary fire of the BFG, only it wont explode in your face. Perhaps it is because it reminds me of the Quake 3 Plasma rifle but I really like the secondary fire of the BFG and so the XR4 appeals to me by giving me just that without the nasty surprises

Hey guys!
I'd like to ask a question about this weapon pack. If I install V9, and use a weapon that comes with it, the game sometimes (mostly when sprinting & jumping at the same time, so I do not use the sprinting mutator, but the problem is still present, just a bit more rare) freezes and quits. When I install the prototype pack, anytime I try to switch to another weapon, it freezes and quits, regardless of jumping etc.

Also, since I'm mostly impatient to find the weapons one by one, I used the command 'reloaded' so that I can test them and have fun sooner. Could this be a problem?

This error is caused because you load (with Reloaded command) all the weapons and weapons package you have installed in Ballistic Weapons (a burden too heavy for this mod, for showing too many weapons). When all the weapons are loaded in the game and you try select one, UT2004 crashes showing this error.

You should try to include one at a time with the Summon command or make a TXT file with a summoning weapon package and load it in the game with the Exec command.

Like this:

summon BWBPRecolors3.BulldogPickup
summon BWBPRecolors3.CYLOMk2Pickup
summon BWBPRecolors3.CoachGunPickup

1. Save the document in the System directory with the name "SKBWBPV9.txt"
2. Run UT2004 and play a level with Ballistic Weapons mutator.
3. Show the console and type "exec SKBWBPV9.txt" without quotes (make sure you do not have many weapons already in possession) and do it in a place where the bots can't take the weapons.

I have separate weapons package documents with all the weapons in each package: SKBWBPV9.txt, SKBWBPV10P.txt, BWV25.txt...

Basically there are more ballistic weapons than UT2004 can handle. Don't bring them all into the game at once

Use Ballistic Arena to include only the guns you want to test
