I host, but after about five minutes my friend can no longer see me, but he can see the items I'm carrying. Eventually he cannot see moveable items in the game. We have restarted many times, and also tried the 64 bit and 32 bit version but nothing seems to fix it. Could this be a port forwarding problem? We connect just fine through the steam UI. I can't find this problem anywhere, any help would be much appreciated. Other than that, great game! edit: we have both taken turns hosting, the problem goes to the other person |

Is your internet upload speed maybe too slow? It sounds like a typical network saturation problem. I'm assuming you don't have this in other games, so the problem could be the method of connecting. Have you tried the Friend Game list on the right side Main Menu? Steam Invites are still a bit wonky, and may not work properly.

I was using the friends list on the right, but I can try an IP connect if you think that will help. My friend and I live nearby, we've never had latency problems with other games. I will give the IP connect a shot, and see if that helps. I'm 2+ Mbps up (tested) and he's prolly in the same boat. EDIT: He has 1+ Mbps up, is that the issue? Internet speed requirements would have been nice to know before I bought the game. Not a gripe, just a suggestion for the steam store page. I've never had internet speed issues with any of the games I've bought on there before. Although I do acknowledge yours is quit a bit different than most games. |

Just want to add in on this; My friend and I just purchased the game as well. We are experiencing the same issue. We've tested a couple different methods and believe I can at least give you a little more clarification. We both have good internet speeds (30mbps Down/10mbps UP). We get the same multiplayer issue. The host has no issues, but the person connecting to the host game will stop seeing new objects graphically. You can still interact with the object, it's just not rendered. If the non-host person exits the session and rejoins their friend, it will all work correctly again. All items can be scene. However, the problem slowly happens faster in faster. Basically, the first time the host throws up the server, we have roughly 10-15 mins with out a problem. Then the non-host exits, and rejoins. Everything good for maybe 10 minutes. Non-host exit rejoin again, then only a few minutes. It keeps getting worse faster and faster, until shortly after loading initial objects, you can't see anything new. The non-host also can not see the host NPC when the issue arises. The host has NO PROBLEMS the whole time. TL;DR / summary - Host has no issues during multiplayer - Non-host slowly loses the ability to see new objects and see the host avatar - Non-host can still interact with objects, but no graphical representation of the objects - Non-host can exit session and rejoin and that will correct problem for a short time. - Problem comes back faster and faster. (first session, 10-15mins / 2nd session, maybe 10mins / etc to the point of issues arising just after joining session) - Also, we swapped who was the host and the issues stayed the same. Being, whoever was the host had no problems, but whoever joined had issues. - We've only played 2 people at a time so far, so just a host and a person joining. - Very noticeable when clicking on items to spawn (dumpster/water bucket). You'll see the machine go through it's motions, but you won't see the water bucket/dumpster appear. On a weird note, the lantern/medical supply machine seems to work. you can see those when they are dispensed, but when interacting with them, you get lag. As in, if you throw the lantern it clicks through the air and lands. You don't see the flames from it breaking. ** If it helps, we both got this off Steam; but we connected to each other through the in game option ** --- Seems to be some sort of build up on the server side that is causing it (my guess for what it is. But, I've never made a game, so I really have no f-ing clue). Freakin' amazing game though. Please make multiplayer correction a priority, me and my buddies wanna have some beers and clean up after the special forces went through. |

Hmm, I see. It's possible that footprints, or excessive mess is well, messing with the server's transfer chain. Was the level particularly messy, more so than when you started(in number), were there lots of footprints? Other than that, I'm out of ideas for the moment, something strange is causing a gradual break-down, and we'll have to search deep to find it.

Yes it was more messy in terms of foot prints and blood. But less messy in terms of body parts, bullet casings, garbage, etc. Good luck! We have faith in you! |

Footprints, that's probably it. We focused on cleaning up all the trash and weren't going to mop up until the end. 5 minutes in is probably when it became too much. Thanks for the insight. edit: we tried mopping as we went and we didn't have the disappearing issues anymore |
