So I'm more of the completionist/perfectionist kind of player, and after watching a stream on Gamespot of the game (Random Encounter) I thought I'd give it a shot. I played through the first level and after about 3 hours I completely cleaned it, no blood, no organs, no body parts and no trash. Even picked up the soda cans and stuff. It was entertaining but when I finally hit that finished button and proclaimed that I was proud of my work.... Nothing really happened.

I know this is kind of a sandbox game and nothing is supposed to matter, but maybe some kind of scoring system could be implemented to help people like me feel more accomplished?

Perhaps one like Golf, where the LOWER your score the better, and give point values to all the viscera, trash, ammo etc. Bloodstains worth 10, Organs 5, Bodies 25, bullets 1, trash 1, etc etc. When the player hits exit just give them the point value of all the objects remaining in the level added up. Players can shoot for the lowest score in the shortest time possible. Perfectionists like me can try to get that perfect 0.

Any chance of seeing this in the final version?

yea this game really need some sort of scoring system.
since player can cause more bloodstains and vending machine add more limbs this would make scoring hard , tracking the number of limbs/stains removed is out of question.

If it comes to score system then all limbs/stains should have their own pre set number at the start of the map, or maybe just show the % of the number of limbs/bulletholes/stains...etc in game UI

I agree. I bought the game together with friends and we completely cleaned up a level. It took some time and it was fun but when we saw that it doesnt make a difference if we make a good job or not that was pretty disillusioning. There could at least be a mentioning in the level select that you managed to clean that level by 100% (or whatever you were able to achieve). The way it is now we had a great time with the game but my friends have no motivation to play the other levels since it is simply not rewarding enough.
A scoring system would be great awell. And maybe experience points to upgrade your gear (I guess players nowadays are just too spoiled). You really made a unique game here and it is a lot of fun but it definitly needs more long-term motivation.

Edit: I just went through the first 3 pages of the forum and a lot of people had similar ideas but there never were any comments on the issue by a developer. Is that a bad sign? Or was there a statement to this in any way? I wasnt able to find information on this concern, hopefully someone knows more. Looking forward to a reply,

Best wishes and keep up the good work!

I just want a UI to check cleanliness and secondary task progress (med-kits, stacked boxes) before clocking out.

The game already rates you on your performance(the notes in the office), and there are punishments for not doing a good job(loss of trophies). We've tried to stay clear of an aggregate scoring system, as it doesn't exactly fit with the philosophy of VCD. After all, how well you choose to do is what matters, and in a real cleanup situation you wouldn't know ahead of time how well you've done and be allowed to go back and fix it after you've left work. ;)

However, we are as yet undecided on the matter, and may implement some kind of optional basic scoring system, allowing you to forgo the office.

That is the official stance at the moment.

Thank you for the reply! I would really like to see, that when you choose a level, you can see right next to the level in percentage how far you were able to clean the mess. It is kind of demotivating when we do a really good job on a level that takes over 3 hours and after we are done there is just nothing. Okay yeah, there are notes in the office but thats not motivating enough since it doesnt matter what the notes say because there are no consequences.
And lets be honest here, you wouldnt have fun in a real clean-up situation. its simply not fun. what is fun is the set up, the black humor, the nervous physic, ragdoll body parts, and experimenting with all the stuff. I dont think the game is meant to be a realistic simulation. give the players some kind of reward apart from the notes. It would keep a lot of people playing the game.
