Post subject:  Unable to Join Friend's Game and Vice Versa
I bought Viscera Cleanup Duty about 2 months ago and since then two different friends of mine have also purchased the game and have tried to play with me on almost a dozen different occasions. I've tried hosting, they've tried hosting, we've tried putting in IP adresses, using Hamatchi to try and join, creating servers, but nothing works.
I can see the notification in the bottom left says click here to join friend's game, but every time I click. It says connecting, nothing happens and then it says connect attempt cancelled.
I've tried hosting and my friend runs into the same problem.
Is there something we're doing wrong? We've tried everything we can think of. Neither of us are super experienced at gaming online and such, but we've searched the internet and found nothing to help us. Is there something we need to enable or some magical switch we need to flip?
Any help would be marvelous, thank you.

Hmm, it's unusual that all methods should fail. :think:

Have you guys been able to connect or had problems in any other games?

Did you try the trickier, more annoying Port-Forwarding method and added the game to the Firewall exceptions list?:

If you are attempting to host a game for a friend online and you are connected to the internet through a router to the outside world, you as the game's host may need to forward the game's unique 'Port' number.
Information about port forwarding can be found on your Router manufacturer's website; Make sure that you forward ports 7777 (Game) and 27015 (Steam).

Once the ports are forwarded, you must know your public IP-Address, you can do this by visiting: www.whatismyip.com
Give this number to your friend, and ask him to enter or paste it into the connect box in-game.
