Post subject:  Build with UDK has stopped working. PLEASE HELP!

I downloaded the game today and it keeps giving me the Build with UDK error.
I'm running on Windows 8.

This is what i tried:

-Restarting my computer and re-downloading the game
-Running the UE3Redist.exe file manually
-Installing/Repairing the .NET 4.5
-Launching the game's EXEs in windows 7 compatibility mode
-Running the EXEs as an admin
-Updating my Video Drivers
-Messing with the resolution settings in the UDKSystemSettings.ini file

Any help is appreciated. :)

Gah, what a stubborn fiend. :-\

Could you post your latest Launch.log file? Perhaps we can find out what's going on from it.
You'll find it under "\UDKGame\Logs"

Sorry for the late reply our time zones are different :p.

When i open the Launch.log file there's nothing in it but there are alot of dmp file in the Logs file and i can't open any of them. :s

I'm gonna be honest. This basically exhausts my check-list, and I'm not sure what else could possibly be causing it. :?

It doesn't even get to log any info you say?

This sounds like a problem commonly cured by running the UE3Redist.exe, but you've already done that.

Hmm, uh, gah..

Have you tried manually running the exes with Steam closed? :think:

I am also having the UDK Stopped Working problem, here is my log, I have tried everything listed above and nothing has worked, even verifying integrity of the cache and re downloading corrupted files through steam.

from this it looks like the game can't fund the UDK.exe in my file system though I have no clue what could be causing that. any help is appreciated.


Edit: I looked at this again for a while and noticed that my shaders are failing as well, although I have already updated my graphics drivers through windows. Should I redownload them manually from the website?

Your problem is likely a video drivers issue, the log seems to contain the classic signs.

Try updating your drivers, should fix the issue. :)
