This isn't an issue with the game, but I know the developers read this forum so maybe they can help...


I'm currently creating a custom map for Viscera Cleanup detail, and importing some custom decals. These decals work fine with each other -- I can re-order them so that the correct one is in front of the other...

But no matter what I try, the blood decals used in game ALWAYS displays behind my decals - I've tried changing sort order settings, depth bias settings, etc.. but nothing works.

Is there anything special about your blood decals I need to know to get them to work together?

Hmm, are you placing the decals with the "Painter" tool? Or are you placing VCSplat actors manually?

It could be that the VCMessFactory_Splat actors(what the Painter Tool places) are spawning VCSplat actors as the game loads(they are meant to do this), and then the order gets messed up. :think:

If that is the case, I'll make it so that the newly spawned decals use whatever sort order the factory had for the next update. :)

The blood decals are being placed with the in-editor painter tool - I can see that this gives them a sort order which can't be changed.

Even in the editor, the blood decals are always behind any decal I place manually.

I did notice however that the blood decals properly go over the games stacking marker decals just fine -- I just can't figure out why.
