Post subject:  Game wont run.

I just brought the game on steam and it came with the 'Sants's Clean up' And the 'shadow warrior'. Both of these run BUT the base game, (Viscera Clean Up Detail) wont. I'm not sure if my computer is to bad to run it. I cant even find a crash log. I have done a [u]VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME CACHE [/n] It told me there were 7 files that failed to validate and you be reacquired. I try to open the game again, it goes through the process of install prereq but then game still wont run. Any help would be great. :)

Hmm, you could try this fix.
--------------
Q: When I try launching the game on Steam, it starts, then goes black or closes a moment later. I don't even see any log files in the game folder, what is it doing?
You can try fixing this issue by finding the "UDKGame/Config/UDKSystemSettings.ini" file in your game's install folder under SteamApps/Common/Viscera.

Once you have the file open(in Notepad for example), make sure the ResX, ResY, and Fullscreen settings are set correctly for your system.

If it should fail, try it with fullscreen set to false.

This could also be a problem with the Steam install not always installing the required prerequisites. Try running the UE3Redist.exe file under the game's "Binaries\Redist\" folder.

If that doesn't help, you may have to download the core ones from the Microsoft website:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-za/download ... x?id=40784
Be sure to install the one appropriate for your system(32bit[x86], or 64bit).

If that still doesn't work, try manually installing .Net 4.5 from the Microsoft website: Microsoft .NET framework 4.5
--------------

Otherwise, if it's still not working, you should be able to find the Launch.log file under \Steam\SteamApps\Common\Viscera\UDKGame\Logs\

Simply paste its contents here for review.

Thanks dude, after posting this, I had a search around on the steam forum and community and found a guy who was having pretty much the exact same problem, of which you had already answered. I followed all the instructions and set most of the value thingys to 1024 (I don't know very much about computers!) and also deleted some of the files and game seemed to run fine after that. I then came across another bug that this dude was having and that was that after about 3-5 min's of running or launching a map it would crash with the msg saying something like "Run out of graphic memory, Exiting" But this doesn't happen when I play smaller maps like the Zero G one ect.
Now I'm guessing this is a result of the crappy-ness of my computer but , Hey, Christmas is just around the corner. Thanks again and Merry Christmas
