Post subject:  "Working with UDK has stopped working"

I know that this question has been asked before, but I would like to be able to describe my own situation and hope to be able to play the game again!
I was playing and everything was running good until I unplugged my headphones and then the game froze. I waited for around 5 minutes but it was still frozen so I shut off the computer. To be fair, this had already happened once but when I tried to load up the game it worked just fine, but this time a popup appears and says that the UDK has stopped working. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game and both DLC twice to still no avail. I really don't want to delete all of the files because I have 28 hours logged in the game. I really need some help with this please. I'm new to PC so I'm not exactly knowledgeable of computer lingo and short cuts so you'll probably have to walk me through it. Any help is greatly appreciated. Please Help

Why is it so cancerous to find a solution for this!!!!!! I unplugged my headphones. It froze (It did this once before). Tried to run it. Won't work. Clearly there is something wrong. Why do I have to install so many things to get it to work again! It's so idiotic its unbelievable. Hmm, well that's certainly odd.

I assume you have of course tried plugging them in again?

Otherwise, it would definitely help to see the contents of your Launch.log file to get an idea of what's going on.

You can find the log file under \Steam\SteamApps\Common\Viscera\UDKGame\Logs
Just post the contents here.

Hmm, that crash is usually caused by a couple things. :think:

Try the following fixes.

(1):
Find the game's EXE under "\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Viscera\Binaries\Win32(64)\UDK.exe"
Create a shortcut for that, then edit the shortcut's target path; add -nomovies to the end of the command line. Run that and see if it helps.

(2):
Find and open the following file: "\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Viscera\UDKGame\Config\UDKSystemSettings.ini"
Search for "Distortion".
Set the value to False then save the file and launch the game.

It could be an issue with the workshop level that save belongs to.

Do save files from official levels work? Or does it crash no matter what level you're loading?

It´s mostly the workshop levels, but also some of the official levels has the same problem.
The problem often happen when: It´s a big map, a map with a lot of blood. It´s like the game can´t rendering all objects.
Notice that this problem is only when you load a game, never when you actually are playing.
I have a intel core-I7 with a Geforce 1060 6GB, and I Think that should be enough Power to handle the game. I also did an factory reset of my PC just to be sure.

Definitely seems to be stuck in some kind of loop there while loading. Odd that it only happens some times. :think:

Are you running windows 10? If so, maybe try windows 7 compatibility mode.

I´m currently on Windows 10 x64.
But I have also tried with Windows 7 x64.
