Being a guy who doesn't use the M50's camera, if this idea goes through, using the "camera" feature to hack into it, and/or temporarily control it would be an AWESOME idea and incentive to use that feature.

I couldn't care less if something is spamming or not, this is a game where you kill people, why should anyone give shit about how that is done? People nagging about spamming and that crap are just people that hate to lose.

I think everyone loves their own idea the most.
But just a simple machinegun sounds boring, I'd want variety like in the current arsenal.

2 opptions for deployment

primary would be a MG that works well on infintry but bad on vehicles

secondary would be a Rocket launcher that like the AVRiL is good on vehicles (it homes in on them) but bad on infintry (it can't home in on them)

That sounds weird, why not primary places an empty turret, and then you can select a turret gun to use with alt. fire?

Things like pulse rifle, RL, minigun, skrith gun, etc. come to mind.

nahh... let just keep the anti-infantry pulse rifle (low damage and high refire) , and an anit-vehicle pulse beam (high damage and low refire)

this is easy, fast, and powerful (and less hard to script)

Earlier I suggested a mobile turret that could be commanded and I was trying to think of what it would look like. I finally remembered a cool looking robot that would be perfect.

This is AMEE from the movie Red Planet. Stick a gun on the back and you've got yourself a little drone that can be told to gaurd whatever spot you direct it to.

That bot was nasty in Red Planet, if it had a rapid fire gun...

I would split it into two categories. Turrets and Drones. So we would have two game features
A turret with a MG and a AVRiL like rocket launcher would be great. But the rocket should be launched more like a mortar to overcome humps.
A walking or flying drone with remote control and more upgrades (shields, guns, etc...) is great too but much harder to code and would take a bunch of time, I guess.
By the way... wouldn't a mortar be a cool gun for Onslaught?

It would be a very cool feature if the deployables could be ordered via a targeting device and then brought in via aircraft (like the target painter bombs) or via drop pods that are launched from an imaginary spaceship in orbit. That way the deployables can be bigger than a player model, which balances them out a lot because they are easier to hit. And it makes sense that the most powerful turrets can only be placed in open areas, that way one can't obliterate small hallways with them. Those smaller areas can still be covered by the less powerful drones. The Healthbot mutator was a good example for drone-code, proves that it is doable.
