A bow could be interesting, especially a skrith weapon that is like a bow... Could fire interesting ammo... Heated, electric, poison or just plain very sharp. Maybe collecting used ammo?
Tagging enemies and then being able to track them with some kind of scanner??? Laser aim help...
Another advantage is that it would be quiet.
Ammo could be swapped easily with this...
It must also be designed as a good melee weapon, a real Skrith thing...
Perhaps a wire line is attached to arrows and can be used to 'hook' enemies and do something to them.

Actually, something like the wire could be VERY cool on a weapon. Maybe make it do damage as you pull on the wire, and able to wrap the wire around things. Go find the Ninja Rope mutator for an example of what I've got in mind for an arrow wire.

Perhaps you could make the arrow and string from conductive material and than shock your enemy's or strangle them with the rope , but that's maybe to far fetched .Like the pic and idea of the wrist crosbow

Maybe when an enemy is tagged they give off a pusalting glow of some kind that can be seen through ways (the glow is seen through walls not the whole person).

Tagging enemies with beacons that attract predators -- some kind of nasty flying thing from the Skrith homeworld, or rather a whole swarm of them. They eat their victims alive, think airborne piranhas. But they have relatively low health and can be killed. "Monster Magnet" arrow...

nice.. tagging.. DC is saying something about enemies dangling from ceilings.. strung up by wire.. a stretchy yet strong skrith fibre, that can be manipulate it.. so maybe u can tag an enemy with this wire, and adjust the length of the wire, and string enemies to walls or ceilings, etc.

that skrith swarm thing sounds cool too swarmed with little bugs..

or how about once tagged, the guy who was tagged has like 10 seconds or 8 or 6 to kill you or else the tag on him explodes, giving him damage and damaging anyone around him., and if he kills you before the 10 seconds or 8 or 6 well that just means your dead, also it would be cool that once tagged, a countdown timer appear near the top of the screen in skirth number writing (or something like that) then at 1 bye bye, but it would show for both the tagged and the tagger.

Now that i think would be cool, and of course it would need to be made so that everyone is not tagging everybody namely super spammage.

I really like that last idea. Maybe cut it down to eight or six seconds, though. And make it explode the person who got hit, not just kill them, so you've got a little splash damage.

Might be too much like the U4E fleshbomb rifle, though.

Oh and thanks for liking my idea, was really hoping someone would like it, and it sounds like something the Skirth would do.

Lemme just give out a quick review of all the Fire-Modes we've suggested for this weapon:

1.) Normal - Just what you'd expect from an arrowhead: very sharp and hurts a lot.

2.) Explosives-tipped - Arrows will explode upon impact.

3.) Timed Explosives-tipped - A timer starts when the arrow hits a target. Once the time is up, it explodes.

4.) Poison-tipped - Deals continuous damage to targets.

5.) Heat-charged - Scorches flesh to deal more damage than a regular arrow.

6.) Electric-charged - Shocks and stuns targets.

7.) Tracking Beacon - Anyone hit by the arrow shows up on a radar, making it easier to hunt/prey/stalk them to death.

8.) Predator Beacon - Releases a "scent" that attracts ravaging "insects" to swarm the target and devour him/her alive.

9.) Wire-guided - Arrows are attached with long, thin wires that have multiple uses:

9.1) To make the arrow some sort of "grappling hook", to scale tall obstacles with (buildings, etc.).

9.2) To hit targets and pull them towards the user (ala Scorpion of the MK-series).

9.3) To hit targets and "hang" them up on certain objects (this can be achieved by firing one arrow at the victim and another at the object the user wants the victim to be hanged from, such as ceilings).

9.4) To run an electric current into the wire, shocking and stunning targets.

Woo-hoo~!!! Lotta options we have for this weapon! I'm SO looking forward to this!

Well that would be pretty useless if you had no radar on the HUD.

I'm thinking that one would pop out once you hit a target with the Tracking Beacon... if that's doable.

Maybe make something like the Wil 'o Wisp in assault, or possibly the objective indicator that shows up on the top of the hud when you got one marked, or just add the radar to the hud like you suggested.

I like the idea of a arrow pointing to the tagged enemy.

I like the rope-arrow idea better.

I like my creature beacon idea. I also like eurodance and strawberry milkshakes.

If we went with the rope, the thing could even be used as a grappling hook.

Maybe something like a crossbow, but then totaly different look. So really skrithy.

More arrows would be cool though.
I would go for an arrow charged with a plasma cell. On impact it makes a plasma explode.

I'd rather have a dedicated rocket-launcher weapon, rather than a Skrith crossbow that's really just a rockt launcher in disguise because of exploding arrows.

rockets aren't gravity attracted, arrows are. and ok, the arrows don't have to explode.
