Why not make an AK-47 for BW? That would be something like the assaultrifle.

Hmm but the secondairy and special fire. lol I dunno ^^ Maybe a more... SF looking AK-47

It is the most overused weapon in the history of computer games, so I say no.

uhh i did that request before
and oh by the way the M50 has the same feel like an ak ok? :)

Then if you knew that why did you bother making a thread asking for a AK?

AK = Overused to the point of being immensly lame.

I didnt know someone already posted something like this.

BW has so much shotguns, why not more assaultrifles? Those machineguns are fun too but not rly assault like.

There's been discussion on new assault rifles, as well as plans to sponsor several. New stuff is coming, be patient.

Shotguns are the coolest modern guns in existance, at least in my opinion.
And that opinion will stay until the human race starts equipping energy weapons. 8)

We already have working handheld lightning guns, you know. They're called electrolasers, and they use high-powered lasers to turn the air into plasma, then shoot a voltage charge down the plasma string.

I'm not buying that, considering that even hydrogen needs to be heated to 100 million degrees celcius to go from gas form to plasma form.

Post subject:  AK-47

mmm, I don't know... I've heard rumor of these laser zappers. Works much like a jacob's ladder I guess... That heats the air and allows the spark to get much longer!
I'm not sure it takes that much to make plasma, Hydrogen fuses at those kind of tempatures and the explosion would kind of make you forget the plasma...
Yes shotguns are cool! and yes, we do need more Rifles!

The only place where plasma form is a natural reason, is in the core of stars, the heat there is around 90 - 100 million degrees. Although in red giants, the heat can exceed 1 billion °C.

And a little pee-shooter like that is not gonna be able to generate that kind of a heat in a matter of microseconds, believe me when I say that.

No, it wouldn't be able to superheat the air that fast, and certainly not without also instantly immolating whatever the gun was pointed at.

Though there might be some realism to the concept of transferring electricity through some other kind of EM discharge, like a radio wave.

mmm. Anything is possible when the volume of heated material is soo tiny... I don't know if plasma is nessecary to conduct electicity longer distance through air. Although, I remember reading that lightning causes plasma along its path...

Ok, looks like plasma ain't a 100 million degree exotic magic!

Have fun... :)

You're thinking of large-scale stuff, Bjossi. The nuclear fires of which you speak are indeed a type of high-energy plasma, but plasma itself is simply excited gas molecules. The stuff inside those glass balls that follows your touch is actually plasma (very low-pressure stuff, to allow constant electrical flow).

The plasma in the electrolaser's case is more akin to the plasma ball stuff, only higher powered and for a shorter time. It's generated for a split-second by the energy imparted to the air molecules by the laser pulse, creating a low-resistance path for the electric charge to follow. The effect is similar to lightning, only instead of waiting for massive electrical buildup to find its own path through very insulating air, we create a path for our lower-voltage shock to use. The electrolaser is really just a glorified stun gun, but it allows long-range use.

And I hope I didn't sound like I was disagreeing with you, Bjossi. I loves me shotguns too. I know what you meant by energy weapons, but I thought you might think the idea interesting.

Wrong, here's how it really works:

All lasers loose energy to the surrounding air, even to the point you can see the beam. This allows you to IONIZE a thin tube of air, through wich you can send a current. Basically a shockrifle. ;)

I'm not far enough in chemistry or physics to learn that stuff, but it still sounds too insane for 2006, at least in the case of a pistol-sized gun.

But it is easy to create confusion with plasma, it is a word for two very different things. !mistrust

Plasma IS ionized gas, datsylel. So we're talking about the same thing.

And it's not pistol-sized, Bjossi. It's more like a rifle (whereas a stun gun is the pistol version). I probably should have clarified handheld. It's "man-portable".

When you suggest weapons, better suggest ones that can defend you against other people's guns. 8)

thats true but i'm sure a AK47 can defend you mayby not in CSS but i'm sure in BW it would.

I would love an AK in BW, and have hinted (nicely) at the guys, but they don't seem very interested.

BUT, I must admit, an AK doesn't really have a place in BW. If you want an AK, go play CS (I do).
Given the story line (you can find it in the BW General forum), you have to admit, it just don't fit.

I think however, the reason people like the AK, is cause it is a good weapon, both in real life and in games (probably cause the games are modelled on the real life weapon).

So, unless some-one sponsors the AK, it's not really gonna show up in BW, cause it just don't fit!

just my two cents worth... :)

someone should sponser a Saiga-12 out of hate for the over use of AK-47s because it looks just like an ak-74 and would really tick people off (out side of thouse that would use the grafics and make and ak-74 out of it) (it should look like it BTW, it was based off the design) but a more powerful slower less accuret AR should IMO look like a StG 44

CSS has a really cool looking gun thats for the T's i think its called the Kraig, whatever its called, it looks awesome, should be considered.

Actually cyberax, it seems like the AK would be a weapon of choice for the Curse, they're fairly cheap and extremely reliable.

a futuristic version of the AK would be good for them (see why i say futureistic in the BW General fourm under Prokect Arkon questions page 2).
