For the balance of the game, lightsaber must not be an instant kill weapon. Also, you should be able to block with lightsaber only for a split second; you can't keep blocking by holding the right mouse button. It should still have energy weapon reflection ability, though.... And one more thing: if someone's making it, please make the range longer than other melee weapons. The range of all the melee weapons I've been using are, like, zero! You basically have to stick to an enemy to inflict damage. So is there any possibility that lightsabers will be added in the future? I want it so bad.(T_T) |

Hmm... I never thought I'd actually see an outright request for one... Although, I must admit, an energy based melee weapon would be cool, I really don't think I'd like to see a lightsaber in BW, mainly because the entire "blade" is pure energy. But anyways, the range for melee weapons is a reasonable distance for all of them, they just aren't something you'd realistically be able to hit someone with at 2 meters away. I would not expect the RS guys to do this for free...

i think it is a good request for JW...maybe BW with a bit of work, such as not having it be the whole blade but having a sword charged with some sort of plasma or something...i unno physics or anything but it seems more likely to have a solid base weapon with an energy field around it |

Most mods will have serious worries about adding fictional weapons from other games/ universes, since it makes them look like they are ripping someone else off. It can also lead to legal action. If a lightsabre is ever included, I think a fair bit of design work will have to be done to make it unique. Of course, this is just what I've seen from other mods. I'm sure a member of the BW team will tell you if there's a problem here. |

What X s saying is go out and make it your self, go ahead and make it a super weapon for JW, be creative with it and make it into a new weapon pack for the rest of us. 
No money cost, and you get it just the way you like it. 
I think X is getting impatient so close to 2.0 being out.

What do you mean impatient? If I sounded rude, I didn't mean to. 
But yes, I feel that someone other than me and a few others should make some Junk weapons. I don't care who, just some more people to do it. As Dark_Watcher said, it'll be custom tailored to your likings and it would be free and easy to make.
I'll even personally help you through it, too, past what I have in my tutorial. If you want to make it yourself, look at the tutorial first, and ask me if you have any questions.

I dont really see the light sabers from star wars in Ballistic. But I do see energy swords for the Skrith. Something like those in Halo2

Don't worry about it, DW, I did sound a bit like a jerk... YES! More people should make JW stuff! Its easy to do! As for my cutting torch-ish sword, dunno if it'll be made in JW, I'll have to see how some things work out... |

Good point. But were there instances where the developers of a ut mod actually got sued? I haven't heard of one yet. |

It really makes no difference. The Junk Wars code is awesome for making melee weapons with. DC gone out of his way to make it like that. Ignore the name. Thats the theme RS went with. |

I learned modeling in a few minutes. To make something like a sword, it takes maybe half an hour, hour max. Practice isn't necessary to make a model. If you want them to look spectacular, thats different. Not exactly silly of thats how many people start out, is it?

Ok, I realize that you won't be able to make a spectacular model in 30 minutes, but my saber turned out damn fine anyways. That one was about 20 minutes worth of work. 
I wasn't referring to making weapons for RS, I was assuming you were making them because you wanted it for yourself. It doesn't take take very long to make a RS quality weapon if you are skilled in your modeling program. I know DC makes them pretty quick. You are not required to make an RS quality weapon to make it an unofficial JW weapon. And UglyPants, thats a rather poor philosophy. Just because they can do it better does not mean they will do it. If you want to get something done, its best to do it yourself, that way you will know clearly how and if it will be done.

So anyways, back to the lightsaber discussion. My brother actually wants to make one, but he plans on pretty much reinventing it. None of that silly jedi crap, and its definitely not going to be called a lightsaber or laser sword. This thing(s) is designed for killing stuff, not for bouncing back blaster bolts and making pretty light shows (although thats not to say they are being ruled out ).
And the blade, well, thats going to look something fierce. Also, I plan on making completely brand spanking new sounds for it too. It'll change the the way you think of lightsabers forever.
