A few threads on Meelee weapons popped up, I thought I would join in:

Questions you may ask are in BOLD

Name:
Dismembered Krao Talon

What is that? Its a claw!

History:
The ravenous Krao leigons spent centuries adapting their bodies for combat. Growing harder shells and sharper claws generation by generation. The Bony Talons of a Krao Runner are sharp enough to tear through steel and their bones are thick enough to block all but the sharpest swords.

Some Skrith beleive a Krao Talon is the ultimate meelee weapon.
Every now and then a Skrith arms themselves (no pun intended) with a Krao's own arm through a surgical process that converts a Krao's arm into a hand held bludgeon.

Basic Description:
An arm of a Krao insectiod creature, dismembered and preserved specifically to be used as a meelee weapon. Features 5 stinging claws (assuming). The Venom sacks in the claw are also intact (they remain alive years after Krao death)

Are you insane!? That is up for debate.

Primary fire:

Likewise with meelee weapons, primary is a quick swipe with the claw. The attack is not as damaging compared to other meelee attacks but the victim is injected with venom that drains health for a few seconds.

How deadly is the venom? Sufficient, but it wont kill you in one hit, I would say the swipe does 20 damage and the poisons drains a further 30. More swipes mean more poison.

Secondary fire:

A "grab" attack.

Thanks to a bit of surgical wonder, the user can pull on a tendon towards the bottom of the arm that forces the claw to clench. You combine this with a swipe to dig the claws right into victims

Not only does this do additional damage from having 5 nails dig into your victims, this also allows you to grab victims/vehicles and hang onto them, injecting poison all the time. The downside is that the attack is slower and requires more aim.

Does the poison damage vehicles? No

Can you leave the claw in your victim And let them die from venom you are not dishing out? That would make it way too imbalanced

Ammunition:

The venom is the ammo, Striking victims sucks up a portion of venom and attaching to objects lets it drain constantly.

Because the venom sacks are still alive, the venom regenerates over time like with the skrith sidearm.

Special ability:

Hold the arm in front of you to block other meelee attacks

Death message:

Abbadon gave Arclite a hand
Arclite was shredded by Abbadons Primal Rage
Abbadon Slapped Arclite with the Krao Talon
Arclite was flavoured by Abbadons venom
Abbadon turned Arclite into Krao chow

I know how we can make this cooler! Your ideas are welcome, please share.

I think it can be a nice idea to introdice a new organic cathegroy of weapons.:) Poison claw sounds interresting. I think I have an idea in my mind too. Let's call them Krao weapons! Let's hope there wont be just poison weapons though.

Personally, I think I'd want a bit more hard evidence of what the Krao physiology is before I get too crazy into this, but what I am willing to say is that this would be something wicked to see. Can't say I'd really expect to see this as a typical loadout weapon, but if one could salvage it off a Krao carcass (without somehow dying from the other swarming Krao) and use it, that'd be pretty cool. I wouldn't be too horribly surprised to see some Curse warriors using these.

Well is there any threads about Krao anatomy? I can make the necassary changes, really I just wanted to come up with something completely different :p

I know its hard to emagine but if we get to see some Krao models this will make alot more sence.

But who cares, its a friggen dismembered alien arm! !lol

This should be a JunkWar weapon.

I'd like to see some more exotic junk lying around than your usual blunt metal objects.

Are you sure? Junk war is not canon with the BW universe so we run a risk of leaving it more out of place by putting it in JW.

Besides nobody posts about JW anymore, I posted my 5-Iron Golf Club there months ago and only got one responce from DK who was only there by chance.

Dismembered limbs don't really seem like they'd fit in on the Loadout menu. I mean I can't envision soldiers being issued dismembered Krao talons from their quartermaster. It would make a great pickup item whenever Krao monsters are finally designed.

Like how you can get Sentinel guns in Halo 2 only from Sentinels? Good idea.

I think you have gotten the idea its a weapon you collect using a freshly despached Krao and the katana.

No its a Skrith weapon; "harvested", engineered and preserved by the Skrith for their own uses. (read the weapon history and short description)

Its something you would not be issued of course, rather something you collect from skrith.

But have you also wondered how soldiers get issued Skrith blades in loadout? Whats the difference?

Exactly as Yokel and KylinRage pointed out.

Who cares if it seems a bit off the wall? From what I imagine the Skrith are rather brutal, whats to stop them from ripping out an arm from an underling and killing people with it, only for that skrith to have his face smashed in by a now discharged war hammer, and then picked up by the hammerer and then later kept as a personal weapon souvenir?

From my point of view the Talon is the Skrith equivalent to the Katana. An exotic weapon, used rarely, makes Skrith look cool and menacing. Used by the most skillful and outrageous Skrith.

Their reason for using this would be the same reason you would have for pulling out a sword, whatever that reason that may be.

But for the most part:
Skrith may like to take advantage of that Venom, particulary their assasins

Xavious had another point too:
If a Skrith snaps his blades he would have no compunction against whipping his A73 out and zapping a pet Krao for his claws
