I don't know if this would be overpowered or not, but I have a sketchy idea of a weapon right now. A sort of gun that when picked up comes with an invisible floating turret satelite thing. Primary is weak pistol fire that pushes back your enemies a little. Secondary shoots out a marker that can stick to everything, except for fluid surfaces . If the marker lands in a volume, it would be rendered useless or the marker could be disrupted, causing the mid-air turret to mis-fire or mistake any random object as the marker.
There are a few modes i can think of right now. 1. The mini-satelite turret thing (I'll call it the float for the rest of this post.) fires a laser at the marker, destroying the marker and injuring the object it was stuck on. Unarmored players can be taken in out with two laser markers, but vehicles and armored players tend to be able to hold out longer. 2. The float fires a missile at the marker. This missile is deadly to foot soldiers and light vehicles. Destorys the marker. 3. The float sprays unignited gas on the marker. If lit up, the marker is destroyed and the object is set on fire. When the float fires, it can be seen for 5 seconds (subject to change) before becoming invisibling again. If shot, the float will drop and explode, taking down enemies and possibly the player with it. If the player survives, secondary fire can no longer be used with the gun. Alone the float is pretty much an annoyance, but special fire changes that. You can deploy floating energy cores that have a link with the floater. The more you release (a maximum of 3, once again subject to change), the more lethal the floater is. However, the energy cores can be destroyed, which would drop to the ground and explode, possibly hurting the player. Energy cores automatically die out upon vehicle entry or death. If you have the max of 3 cores linked to the float, the float will only be translucent, and will cause a bigger explosion when destroyed, obviously killing the player and destroying the energy cores, which will in turn die out and explode. That's why the more cores you have, the easier for you to die when the floater gets shot. EDIT: All explosions, energy core and floater, can hurt enemies and vehicles. Tell me what you think. This is a very crude idea, I know, and it might suck more than I think it sucks. |

seems intresting but still the gun turret system is too vulnerable to attack |

maybe it should take a few hits before going down... |

This all seems rather interesting.
When invisible the floaty thingy can still be seen if looked hard enough, right? Sorta like invisibility in most games? Anyways, I like this idea, with the marker thing and all. Seems pretty unique and could make just a decent passive defense. |

Yea, the float can still be visible even in invisibility, if you look hard enough. And yes, this weapon does fit as a defensive weapon. You can for example mark a preffered landing spot of a opponent, and just when he gets off you attack him with the laser, missile or unignited fuel, depending on your preference. The ammo are the markers. If you run out of markers the floater will not be usable, and maybe land into a compartment in the gun, making it a simple sidearm that fires like a pistol until you can find markers again. |
