I've came up with the following idea for a weapon. It can be deployed like a minigun, but fires alot differently. Story: The human infantry needed a heavy gun to take down multiple vehicles in small time. Smaller time then to reload your G5 or recharge your Railgun. Thus they've invented the heavy armor-piercing turret. Primairy Fire. Fires heavy armor-piercing rounds in whatever mode it is in. Extremely huge chaos and recoil while undeployed. Refire rate of 5 rounds a sec. Ignores shield (UT2004 Ion cannon does same). Secondairy Fire. Deploys the gun, also possible while standing. So you can change its standing height while deployed (takes time to change) While deployed, the recoil is greatly reduced. Special Fire. No Idea... throw a grenade? Ammo: There should be enough ammo in the ammo box, but longer reloading time. So you can take down multiple enemies, and then reload awhile. You can add other special functions to it and stuff... Completely open for tweaking. |

I'm confused... It fires "heavy armor piercing rounds" at a rate of five a second. Exactly how big are these things? If they're big enough to destroy a tank then this sounds overpowered and unrealistic as it's rapid firing huge instant kill shells, or if they're just slightly larger bullets then it's not really an anti vehicle gun as they're not big enough to pierce armored targets. Unless it's only designed for light vehicles? Then it might make sense. |

I dunno all gameplay details for weaponry, I never made any with attention to avoid overpowering. I said it's open for tweaking... But the rounds are armor-piercing, so they'll go trough thick walls. You can add a special 'view' to it like the railgun, but that might be a little too strong. Thus, now you can choose the APT instead of the Minigun in the Beach map, because in the beach map are alot of obstacles the people hide behind. This gun, shoots trough many of them. I dont know the damage/refire rate balance, but seeing the minigun with its heavy refire rate and strong damage, this one could be strong aswell, because it cannot turn around to defend its sides. Also, I think the damage per sec should be less then the minigun, cuz then we can make up for that with a much better accuracy. |

I like the idea of the gun, but i got a small question what would it do to unarmored persons? Would it be a instant kill or a kill with more than one shot? |

A headshot should be 100 health down or something, and the damage should be very strong aswell against unarmoured people. But with all this power, we can balance it by reducing the max ammo and reloading times. |
