Alright, the humans have plenty of heavy-duty weaponry, now it's time the aliens got some. Here goes: Cryon 'Abolisher' Ion-Disruption Cannon Rough physical description: Sort of like Half-Life 2's Gravity Gun, but more organic looking, with five 'claws' instead of three, all of which are turned over into the barrel, acting as a 'cradle' for a ball of energy the diameter of the barrel. A hatch near the rear of the weapon houses the ammunition. Has a tripod underneath. Ammunition: Cryon bio-energy cell, 80 charges each. Can hold 240 in reserve. Primary Fire: See Fire-Modes Secondary Fire: Launches an unstable gravity-affected energy 'bomb' that does not explode, but releases an electric burst around the impact point for about five seconds, electrocuting and knocking away anyone that gets too close. A direct hit on a target will damage them quite a bit, also throwing their aim all over the place and knocking them back a fair distance. Uses 10 ammo per shot. Medium recharge time. Primary Fire Modes Ion Orb: Emits a zero-point energy pulse that launches the energy orb in the barrel of the gun at about the speed of a Skrith rifle round. Does not create an electrical field like the bomb, instead exploding violently on contact, with a small splash radius. Direct hits have the same effect as the bomb, causing disorientation and knockback. 10 ammo per shot. Medium recharge time. Pulse Beam: Feeds a massive amount of power into the energy orb, overcharging it and emitting the contained energy in a single hitscan beam. Direct hits are very powerful, causing less of a stunning effect than the orb, but with a ton more knockback. Hit someone with this on a map like Face Classic and they're not going to get away with using the translocator to get back on solid ground. Hits on terrain cause a large shockwave to radiate out from the impact point, dealing only a little damage but having some knockback effect to it. 20 ammo per shot. Long recharge time.
Rapid Burst: Slowly overcharges the energy orb causing it to release its energy in the form of small energy pulses that fire very rapidly. The tip of the barrel splits into four sections and spins quickly while firing. The shots, although fast, fire a drunk path and, like the drunk rocket launcher, some dud shots can be fired. Can fire up to 40 shots in one burst. Long recharge time. Scatter Shot: Detonates the orb, releasing the energy in a very short-ranged, shotgun-like blast. Deadly at point blank range, useless at medium to long range. Has a wider spread than the shotguns, useful for clearing rooms. Deals a small amount of damage to the user if not mounted due to the recoil. Massive knockback if the target is not killed, enough to fling them into a wall at high speed. 20 ammo per shot. Medium-long recharge time. Weapon Special: Deploy weapon Backstory: Closer to Skrith-occupied territory, Cryon warriors had begun using this powerful new heavy weapon. The true name of the weapon is unpronouncable by humans, but a rough translation identifies it as the Abolisher. A fitting name, as it has been the bane of many UTC armored divisions, capable of dealing considerable damage to armored vehicles and infantry alike. The weapon appears to be designed for heavy support, the Cryon warriors utilising the weapon often hiding behind swarms of Krao and lesser Cryon troops. However, UTC has been able to salvage these weapons to study and reverse-engineer them. The weapon operates using a power cell of sorts, containing unique micro-organisms that give off massive amounts of charged particles when agitated. By using a magnetic bottle to focus these particles, they become a potent destructive force. The exact control mechanisms for the weapon are still poorly understood, but scientists have so far identified five main firing modes, making this one of the most complex handheld weapons ever known. By manipulating the particles released by the bio-pack in different ways, a number of effects can be achieved, from solid-state, railgun-like particle beams, to a method of attack not unlike a minigun. One thing is certain, however; due to the varying, unstable energy used by the device, it can pierce most known forms of Skrith energy shielding. UTC scientists are still working to beter understand this strange weapon. Hopefully, if the devices secrets can be unraveled, the humans may stand a better chance of ending the war. In the meantime, the few captured Abolishers have been given to several high-ranking UTC officers for use against the Skrith and their allies. Rate and Review, please

Read it all,Very flexible weapon. Kinda like it,but to balace out this flexibility I imagine a long cool-down time between firing. Perhaps a charge meter that empties whenever you switch firemodes. Or it could just be one of those super guns. |

Ooooh, giant multiple-firemode death ray.... I love it! Now, it seems loosely inspired by the Tycharion Skrith Ion Plasma Fusion Cannon posted months before. Is this true? I'm fin ewith that, as this is rather unique to it, but they seem similar. However, where this seems more on ripping down tanks and fire support, the Skirth Ion Fusion Cannon is more for mass destruction on just about everything, as well as an oversized club. Check the topic if you can find it, it also has a very destructive special fire

It does have a cooldown meter. Whenever you fire it fills up a meter above the ammo counter, and you can't fire again until it empties. The energy orbs fill it up half-way, the single beam and rapid fire fill it up completely, and the shotgun blast fills it up to about three-quarters. I'd say it'd take about 4 seconds for it to recharge from a full gauge. |
