What this mod needs is some double barrel rifles. Elephant guns
Also a different approach could be maybe some flint lock pirate style guns. Just making some suggestions. I'm tired of seeing forums on lame stuff like death rays and what not.

This be somewhat death ray game and mod. Guns were pretty lame until the carbine was invented. :}

I don't know... a good blunderbust couldn't go amiss. If not for BW this would go well in Junk Wars, a blunderbust filled with junk (needles, broken glass, small explosive detonators from old rockets etc).

If flint guns were made for UT2004 you have to make some pirates characters, soldiers from the Napoleonic War and such.

"Lame" and "deathray" do not go in the same sentence. They just don't.

That said, there's a reason nobody uses flintlock guns anymore, they're slow and useless against anything other than a sword. A high-caliber rifle would be a fun addition though, as long as it's different enough from the railgun/sniper/ranger.

Also, it's spelled "blunderbuss."

Kien do you even know what a carbine is? Its a shorter version of a larger rifle, without the first rifles we would not have carbines.

This sounds like an instant death gun.

Like MM said flintlocks, wheel locks, etc... are extremely dated, anyone armed with one going against an opponent using a firearm that uses smokeless ammunition will be at an big disadvantage. Doesnt sound like it would be good for BW but for JW it may have a place.

I think a flintlock could have its place, but JW is about melee weapons, not guns...

This type of gun would be fun, but it'd have to have something to it. I suppose a flintlock could be good as a last ditch weapon, or for a sweet coup de grace, but it'd have to have a melee attack available. It should have a short range and good damage up close, but range should be pitiful.

It'd be more along the lines of a weapon used solely for style, wouldn't be just anyone's weapon. I'd see it being used as something like the MRT6, only more difficult to use, basically a melee weapon.

Now a blunderbuss, that thing could be pretty fun. Really powerful spread shot weapon, single shot. Bit better range, nd a melee attack would be a must. It would be something more along the lines of a single use weapon used for massive damage that'd you'd throw away after one shot.

I'd love these. Wouldn't be a very powerful set of weapons, but if you couple them with a good melee attack they'd be really fun to use.

most blunderbusses had spring loaded folding bayonettes, so if one was made, the special could switch between short range powerful whack with the butt; and longrange stab with low initial damage but with a lasting bleed damage.

Anyway, the shot from it would have to have a large spread, massive damage and short range to compensate for the huge reloading time (realisticly 20-60 seconds) and make it a used weapon.

well it was just a suggestion on the flint lock stuff. just trying to spice things up.
the problem i have with "death rays" is that i don't like to watch a slow projection. it's just me i guess. i'm a bullet guy...

I realy cant see a point for having black powder weaponry in a mod like this. I guess if someone sponsored them or something then i guess it realy wouldnt matter what i think. I will admit i would be interested in seeing how the RS guys would pull off blackpowder.

I like the folding bayonet, Eat Uranium. Stacking damage would be good, too, so each stab would have it's own damage and timer.

The problem with giving certain attacks these special properties is that you would have to give it to most all of them to make any sense. All blades and bullets make you bleed.

Maybe it leaves little harpoon-shaped cyringes, with no holding chamber. So, each constantly squirts out gouts of the enemie's blood until the motor burns out. Well, it's not a cyringe without a chamber. But you know what I mean....

Too complicated. It would be simpler to fill a bullet with explosive, and probably more effective.

what about something on the bullets that grip the targets guts as it goes through them, like hooks or something, they would have a lot less range but more damage

Really? That's what the cerebral bore does? I never played the older ones, so I wouldn't know

The Cerebral Bore requires a lock on to fire,but once you have that and pull the trigger it fires a little smart missile that goes directly to the targets head and then procedes to drill out the brain,ejecting the remains out the butt of the missile.
