Depends what you want to mod. If it's models, you need a modeling program, if it's texturing, you need something like photoshop, if it's code, you need Notepad or UDE or something, if it's likability, it's good grammar and less stupid questions...

You would need a modeling program such as Blender, probably Photoshop, and UDE for coding.

If you bust out your UT2004 Play Disc, you'll need to pop that in. Don't run anything automatically. Instead, open the disc with a right click on it in the My Computer window.

Now, look around for the Maya 5 PLE installer. Run that and then install the Maya 5 UT2004 Plugin with that installer. At this point, you should have it working for the most part. Unfortunately, you'll need to (everytime) set the time and date back to at least before August 2008. I'll suggest just throwing the year back to 2007. However, set the date back after opening the program so that way other programs on your computer can function properly (MSN has problems if you don't have the time to the correct date).

After that... you'll need to start learning the program. Here's a super quick rundown:

F8: go to object selection mode
F9: go to vertices selecting mode
F10: go to edge selecting mode
F11: go to face selecting mode
F12: go to UV map selecting mode (acts like F9, but for UV maps, don't mess with until dealing with UV maps though)

Alt+Left Mouse+Movement: rotate the workspace
Alt+Right Mouse+Movement: zooming the workspace in/out
Shift+Left Mouse+Click: add selection with other selections
Shift+Left Mouse+Movement: moves selection in 3d perspective (not recommended)
Ctrl+Left Mouse+Movement: moves selection in 2d viewport (much more recommended)

That should be a good start at the least...

No there isnt. :banghead: I have blender and the only reason i got it to wrok was because i played around with it at school. If you go to the blender website, the file to download the tutorial is no longer available. (Damn computer businesses)
