While browsing the old threads I found a thought that had a real good idea behind it…
It went like this “random upgrade pickupsâ€Â

Interesting stuff, would be hell to implement, but still sounds pretty cool.

I saw at the Crysis gameplay movie that you can modify any weapons in the middle of combat.
So you can fit ironsight, small scope, or a sniper scope. You can also fit an attachment to the guns loop, so a bayonet or a silencer. But then no silencer and bayonet at the same time. Because it is attached to the same place.

would you lose said upgrades should you be unfortunate enough to get fragged? Or would these carry on after respawning?

I'd say you drop them on death, but they never go away. Except Grade B upgrade. Grade A can stay where they were dropped since...

Grade A: Drop on death, and stay permanently until someone gets them.
Grade B: You keep on death.

sort of Udamage reward but then attachments?

At Crysis the large scope attached to it also has a downside, because you don't want to be zoomed in too far. I saw that he changed his big scope to a smaller scope. He also got rid of the silencer, because that lessens damage.

So changes to the weapons are a upgrade, but then also a downside. So it keeps balance.
Dunno what you guys have in mind... something like finding a pack that contains upgrades you can fit 1 at the time.

^ But you can't go and snipe someone from across my CTF modded version of DC's Beach level yet. That plus the range is too short for it.

You could tell if you were a mod/admin, who was able to see I edited my posts serveral times, to allow the post to be updated when I got a new idea.

this IS our attachement system (if i read correctly)..

we are intending, with our next big project, to have an attachements system, which will allow you to find, or buy pickups, and attach them to your guns in the middle of a match, duyring combat, whatver like stocks, silencers, sights, scopes, launchers, screens, coolant devices, bayonettes, etc

figures. Seems we don't often have any really good ideas that you two haven't already though of.

Hmm i did have an idea for a katana upgrade a while back how bout u use a taser or a knife afixxed to the hilt?
