I though of this when I was playing Invasion with Ballistic, wouldn't it be a good idea to make reloading optional? It is just a simple option in the config menu, it is enabled by default of course. So here's the concept. Reloading flagged: Just like it is now, each weapon has a certain amount of ammo ready to fire and you need to reload once you have emptied a clip. Reloading unflagged: Like default UT2004 gameplay. Let's take the pistol for an example; you start with 24 ammo and 12 in the clip normally, but with this option unflagged, instead you will have 36 ammo and no reloading ever needed. I like reloading myself, but it kind of annoys me in certain gametypes like Invasion. Plus, some people just don't like the reload aspect of the guns. I hope this will be added to 2.0.

That would be a fun yet totally unrealistic feature for BW that would be totally awesome to have (i think i used totally too much ).

the mut should be called UBW or in other words Unreal Ballistic Weapons! |

I think this should rather be an option in the BW config, than a seperate mutator. |

yeah i guess that works better. better be able to work with all BW muts. I just realized that when using this and the XK2 the XK2 will be ultra powerful, cause if you can control yourself not to just hold down the prim fire and shoot in burst you'll be able to kill so many guys easily. |

I dislike. Reloading while under fire is fun, and the reload animantions are all so well done, especially with the belt-fed guns, which I think earn the RS team specail honors in my book, at least. NO ONE has ever done a belt-fed machine gun so well. Ever. |

I was overjoyed when I saw that the reload changed with the amount of bullets in the gun. I was experimenting for a whole match with them. Very few mods put time into reloads.

Of course it is fun, but since this would be an option, I fail to see why you dislike the idea. I'd have it on 99% of the time simply because it pwns everything. I was just thinking about the people that don't like reloading (strange crowd there, eh?). And of course I want to have mindless fun with the guns as well. |

I meant to say that I support this as an optional thing, but I got sidetracked talking about reload animations. |

yeah you did. all in all no reload would be a good option, |

some new relopading anims (Magnum) are very complex.. magnums has visible bullets.. u know what that means and those bullets are fired, so u see ampty brass.. and since its a dual barrelt magnum, it can have empty chamber.. eg, u aim carefully, then fire, but only a small click (rare but can happen under the correct circumstances)

I can imagine. The best reloading animation in HL2 happens to be the .357 Magnum. I'm sure you guys will do much better, I just know it.

yeah i love how near the end of the reloading animation, you spin the barrel and lock it into place. |

All of Valve's weapons have at least decent reload animations, and ALL of them have a very solid feel. |

HL2 has pretty lame reload animations, at least compared to HL1. (surprisingly) I'd have expected more detail put into them. Look at how Gordon reloads the pistol in HL1, then look at the way HL2 does it...*cough* |

Okay. . .The animations are good for the Magnum, Pulse Rifle, and Xbow. And the Shotgun. I really like the reload for the shotgun, even though you can't really see anything. |

Yeah, out of all the guns in HL2 i love the shotgun the most, don't really know why, but i just love it. |

i remembered playing on a HL2:D server a while ago which modifed the shotgun and made it fire at least twice as fast and gave it 3 times as much ammo in a magazine... now that was a spam fest
Excpet again i can't play that game cause of stupid STEAM right now Does anyone have a clue how long it takes STEAM to figer out you have the right UserID? Cause it keeps disconnecting me and says 'Error verifying UserID'... f**king STEAM.

Seconded. Shooting combine in the head with the shotgun makes me feel like the one-man-army. And the sound effects just makes it sound powerful. HL2's shotgun and the pulse rifle are solid proof that weapon sound effects matter A LOT. (if I need to be honest, I think the sound effects of BW could use some beef-up. Not bass, but the sound's power) |

I'm with 'Jossi on that whole post. In fact, I've also got a small gripe with the muzzle flashes. They're too long. A muzzle flash should be just that - a flash. The current ones are more like a muzzle GLOW. They're not BAD, but I think they could be better. |

I'd apologize for the double post, but I'm doing it on purpose this time. Am I the only one who thinks that the muzzle flashes could be improved? |

Hmm muzzle flash. I have a desert eagle and if you fire it in twilight you get a muzzle flash that is as long a the pistol itself it is half the fun of firing the gun. Having served in the militart the muzzle flashes on the heavy MGs are correct also. I have to look at he shotguns however to see if they look right. |

I don't mean size. My complaint is duration of the flash. |

Am I the only one who thinks that the muzzle flashes could be improved? I haven't noticed it, but now that you mention it, I think you have a point. |
