Maybe add a Disposal Challenge mode where you are given all weapons with only one full clip. You gain ammo from dead players, and all scopes have high recoil than normally shooting. This way, it makes the players test their true accuracy. You have to disable two of these weapons: RPG Launcher, Railgun, Mine, or ALL grenades. This makes some strong aspects of the game disabled, allowing a greater challenge for everyone. AND special functions are disabled. How's that sound?

It is kind of hard to kill with the grenades...but sounds good, but could be done with already existing mutators I think.

I'm sorry for you, cause I've blown up and burnt quite a few poor foes with grenades... Once you get the timing right, you can make it explode in peoples faces quite nicely!
BUT, there are a few small tweaks that they do need and we'll try to remebmer to add them...

I just don´t know how the grenades work.
If I click to throw them they blow up into my ass while I´m trying to see where it landed. If I hold down and then fire, it will fly but I find it difficult to know how far it goes based on how long I hold down the mouse key.

I guess I just need to use them more.

Yeah, the grenades need a bit of practice, but once you know them, you'll see the advantages... The real power of the grenades comes from the timig of the fuse. You can press reload or wepaon special to start the fuse burning before you release it. What I do is hold down primary or secondary fire, then when its time to kill, I press reload and the fuse starts burning. When its got less than half a second left(very dangerous), I release fire and it goes fying into the enemy's face and blows very quickly... Give it a try...;)

the grenades are awesome once you get them right..

first hold down primary or secondary fire to vary distance.. it will not blow up in you hand! while holding it down, you press the special or reload key to release the clip.. this starts the timer. When clip is released, a bar will appear indicating time till detonation! otherwise, press reload or special before primary or secondary, to release the clip, then throw it.. primary is good for lobbing over objects or walls, while secondary is good for rolling along floors..

these techniques make it extremely usefulB)

that would be pretty cool.. basically what a frag grenade is supposed to do.. we made ours more explosive than frag, mainly because lots of colliding shrapnel everywhere would be slowish, but we will see;)

But seriously, I think each grenade should have unique style. As you said, leave out shrapnels from other grenades to make the nail one unique in that fashion.

IMHO if any grenade deserves to have flak it's the pineapple- you know, since real pineapples are frag grenades. Besides, nails seem overly fancy for a grenade. The traditional squares of hot death are used because their large area picks up a lot of force from the explosion and probably also because they're cheaper than spikes.

Back on topic, though... Bullets only mode sounds good to me. As it is, removing all the big booms also means removing the M50 so your option would have a use.

While we're on the topic, another gametype I'd like is KOTH- not that double domination nonsense, but something where you can actually capture and hold territory. I like the capturing and contesting ground in ONS and would like it in a more intimate game w/ fewer people in a smaller map, with only one or two hills.

The gametype I'd like most by far is anything with more than two teams; it's a team game, except that like in FFA your hard work can be stolen by the third team! It'd add a lot of depth IMO. Use DM skins too, then you have to identify your target instead of just blasting whatever's red... (and also 'cause there seem to be only two team skins, which usually look like crap)

KOTH.. thats a good idea:laugh: their double dom is really crap!! il ike the aidea of holding enemies off from some defensive area.. makes things better.

Yeah, KOTH is kinda something every FPS should have these days. Halo 2 has two distinct flavours, each highly customizable but UT has DDOM. It's not killing the game though, IMHO because ONS is kinda like giant KOTH with a bit of AS thrown in.

Edit: Off the BW topic, I think dDOM could be made a whole lot better with just one tiny change; let the hills be independent like classic DOM. :S I read that the gametype's being dropped for 2007; why not just make it more like classic KOTH/DOM/whatever? It's tried and true, people love it.
