I think we should rather just be able to post our MSN/ICQ/AIM/etc. numbers in the profile so we can chat that way.

Sorry, not on this site...any form of IRC is strictly forbidden on shared hosting, due to utilization of server etc. Maybe on this site, after I go dedicated server for this site, once volume demands it and I get the donations up to pay for it! Although there's nothing stopping you from setting up something on a IRC site that allows it... |

But it does need improvement, maybe add new abilities like avatars (max 64x64 15Kbs to keep server load low).

www.icq.com It is a 3rd party instant messenger, I find it much better than MSN.

I need to put the "rules" page up before enabling avatars, as avatars need to be controlled, otherwise people get carried away

Yes, on the forums for the game Serious Sam, the max avatar size is 96 x 96 and max filesize of the JPGs is around 6 - 10 Kbs I think. These rules would be wonderful for our little community here.
