Here's my idea, taken from another thread (that I posted). Have a set of binoculars or goggles of some sort, and they could be used to show various vision modes, like perhaps thermal vision and maybe something that makes explosives more visible, but as a trade-off it makes other things harder to see. Also it might be able to be used without zoom and maybe up to 6x zoom (or less), and it could be used to mark where to strike for long ranged support, either by using something like a range finder, or perhaps a laser. Think of it as a sort of multipurpose vision enhancing thingy with lots of uses.

Now this, this is truly an idea worthy of creating. I love it, totally agree with everything. yeah you'd see less of the screen like in CoD2, I'll get a screen shot from CoD2 of the binoculars, I'l have it for tomorrow. Also the B key (if not used for any real key for UT2k4) could be used just like CoD2. Also there would have to be a heat/ infrared vision to see bodies, also dead bodies even gibs would show up bright while everthing else would look like how it would be but in some other color cause your viewing through infrared. |

Yeah, I'm sure there'd be more vision modes, those were just the first ones I thought of. Thanks, too.

I remember a certain thread where there were also item-suggestions for different types of vision (Night-vision, Thermal, etc.). But, instead of being binoculars/goggles, they were nano-augmented artificial eyes inserted into one's eye-sockets... Methinks it was MMM who suggested that... I dunno, I forget. |

Infra-red is black & white, brightnesss is shown by the presence of heat. There is a colored version of heat-lighting, not sure if it is a natural form or human-made though. |

I forgot about that suggestion, I hope he doesn't think I tried to steal his idea. I don't take credit for the alternate vision modes, since thats the case, or the target painter-ish feature, either. As for the different vision modes, I don't really know much about what would be best, I'll leave that for you guys to figure it out.

X-ray makes you able to see through walls but not very visibly. |

Really this would be a super cool thing to have as an item, and maybe you can only select air/artillery strikes if there are vehicles on the map, so no huge air strikes on DM maps. |

Well, I'm starting to think that my idea wasn't all that bad after all...

I really like this idea. The Yet Another Real Life Mod (YARM) has a three-mode vision system with light amplification, motion tracking, and thermal. I love YARM and all, but it's lacking a bit in the visual department. After seeing the railgun's scope, I'm sure the BW team can come up with some really awesome looking vision modes. |

Welcome UndeadRoadkill (thats a mouthful) to the RuneStorm Fourms! pull up a chair, drink some tea and enjoy the great music, but watch out for that Cookie monster impersonator who's hiding in the dark corner, he's kind of a jerk. |

Hi, I've been watching these forums for a while, just got around to posting now. BW is all I'm playing lately, it's got very creative, unique weapons without veering into outright silliness, and the visual elements are all top-notch. And I like that it's got that mutator/gametype format, so I can easily mix it with other stuff. |

So you guys want to tear off the scope of the railgun to make it a seperate tool? How would it work anyways? |

Essentially, yes, the scope tore off from the railgun, only with more usefulness, like alternate vision modes, some readouts similar to RedShift's new rifle (thats what gave me the idea initially ), and probably a few extra doodads, too.
It'd probably work best as some equipment that you spawn with, but I imagine it could probably be made into essentially another gun and just doesn't fire, it'd only have the different vision modes, with some zoom capability. |

I know something for readings in the scope. The distance of a wall in meters you're watching. So if you see an enemy walking around, you can put ur crosair on him and read how far he is. After giving him a headshot ofcourse
