I don't know if the way it works now is a very deliberate design choice, and I don't want to second-guess you guys, so just ignore this if it conflicts with your plans:

Personally, I think the way ironsight aiming is brought up is kind of unwieldly. It takes a while, and you have to hold the button down the whole time, or else you drop the weapon back down again. It gets kind of irritating when sometimes stepping over the slightest lip ruins your aim, and you have to keep holding down the button again, and you're trying to navigate, watch out for enemies, and fire all at the same time.

I would recommend that bringing up the sights be a one-click affair, rather than a holding down of the button, and maybe slightly reduce the time it takes. Any thoughts, anybody?

...ironsights work fine for me hell i run around with them on all the time using the 10mm RS pistol...cant remember the name of it right now but yeah never had an issue with it, i guess it just takes getting used to

and by the way when you go over a lip or somthing in real life while looking down ironsights of a gun you usually trip, ive seen it many many times and done it a few myself, with many more on the way as i become a cop, point is it does mess up your aim so it makes sence that they do it.

back to the bw world: even better is when im in an ironsighted view and i get skimmed by a railgun blast and i lose my nice headshot..

It's the fact that if you just tap the button, you know, enough to type ONE letter, then yeah, it'd work fine.

However, with any weapon, just the system in general, it has to be held, and that's bad. =|

Yeah, I don't have a problem with jumping around ruining your aim, it's the way you have to hold the button down for so long. When a bunch of little things ruin the aim, and you have to hold it down again, I find it kind of disruptive. A lot of games try to strike the balance between realism/simulation and all-out fun, and I think BW is more on the side of fun.

Realism and entertainment can work together, but they are like the religious tribes in Iraq; unstable as hell. :S

thats how the iron sights should have been done in the first place, and without the crosshairs, only relying on the actual sights on the gun to aim. (i'm going to get flame for this, i know it)

You shouldn't have a crosshair in normal view either, nor should you be able to carry more than two or three weapons. And only space for low amounts of ammo for only one weapon.

Realism is anything but gameplay-friendly, so I say that we keep the crosshair, to not reverse the amounts of people that play the mod.

No we keep the crosshairs but when you enter the iron sights mode, the crosshairs go away (fade out), then when you get back to normal they appear, haven't you ever played CoD?

thats what we need, but its the devs who decide not us (unfortunately)

Why do that?

then you are relying on the sights on the gun, instead of the curretn way its handled in which you get the sights, but you have the crosshairs at the end of the gun which kinda defeats the purpose.

That is kind of true, but I just like to have a marker that I can use to aim with.

guess you'd hate CoD or CoD2, or even BF2.

i think having the crosshairs on when the iron sights are on takes away the semi-realism of the mod, also does anyone think that after 2.0 RS should start considering making BW's muts more commanding over UT2k4?

As for the semi realism, I wouldn't exactly classify a crosshair showing up at any time (other than with scopes and such)a being realistic. ;)

But I do agree with you, it would be cool if there was an option for disabling the crosshairs when the sights are brought up.

They are planning on moving on to their bigger plan (Project Archon) once they get 2.0 released, if thats what you mean.

I'm not entirely sure how they plan on doing it., but my guess would be with some new gametypes first. Lets move this discussion to here.
