This gametype idea came in my mind just now. --- The fragger is the first person to get to 2 kills, or is the last player without a kill. Then, they respawn with nothing but a Katana, and cannot see nor move for 15 seconds. The non-fragger players all will respawn with nothing but Melee M50's (camera comes in use!), and must hide in 30 seconds. This is ample time in UT I think, if not too much, but would be good for large maps. The fragger then must find the hiding players, and kill them all with the Katana. The non-fragger players can work together to evade the fragger by being considered a team. If the fragger doesn't catch all the players, he remains the fragger for the next round, and must attempt to find the players again. The time alloted for the fragger to find the other players is chosen before the game starts, and has a minimum of 5 minutes, and a maximum of 10. If the fragger catches all the other players and kills them, the non-fragger players then must fight it out on an arena using only the Katana, and the first dead person is the fragger. Frag and Go Seek uses Jailbreak maps, and players who get caught are thrown in Jail, either one, doesn't matter, until you get to my next part. --- Team Frag and Go Seek --- The team that doesn't get a kill first is the fragging team, and the team that killed another team's player is the hiding team. Also, when caught, players go to their own team jail instead of a random jail. Jailed players can all fight each other for fun with the Katana. --- If wanted, you can change the Katana to the Skirth Blades, but not the X3 since the X3 is throwable, making an easier game. |

Gimmicky game-type at best, but still would be funny as hell to see being played

Would be pretty fun to see. I think all melee should be an option for the Fragger, just set the ammo to 1, and you won't be able to throw the knife. |

Hmm, yeah, then that would work with the no-throw X3. How do you like the idea of using the Jailbreak maps though? And the strategy of the M50 cameras? --- Edit: The reason for all Melee is so the hiding team can't just kill the fragger, and the fragger... I guess you could have a Melee only version and a normal version that allows for also the use of explosives for both teams. That FP9 would be very annoying to run across as the fragger if the other team works together. Say... the fragger is on the heels of a fleeing hider, but another hider has an FP9 deactivated around a corner, and then activates it after his teammate corssed by, and the fragger runs into it suddenly. |

That sounds pretty cool.
I like the idea of using explosives as a primary source of defense, makes for fun times.
(lets not forget the mines, either )
Cameras would be cool. Never really played jailbreak much, but I think that wouldn't be too bad.

On some Jailbreak maps, the jailed players are still useful since there are cameras that jailed people can watch to tell other players what to do. That way, the fragged players are still helpful to the remaining people in the game. Heh, yeah, the mines would also work, but just not the FP7 or the NRP57, not really hidable, and would eventually get a little messy for players. People would just start throwing grenades at the fragger, and make it too hard. The fragger has the chance of escaping death by just picking up mines and explosives, but not grenades! |

frag and go seek with railgun scopes!!!....i was always more partial to improved games of minesweeper 1 player lays mines, the other finds them and detonates them...if they dont find them the mine layer detonates them in an effort to kill the mine clearer...i started this back with my buddy in the golden eye days...porting it over to BW with the laser mines has been a very rewarding good idea on the hide and seek though, needs tweaking but its a great start...id like the idea of the seeker having a sniper rifle and having to get headshots...and maybe only having 1-2 bullets per person in the match |

You know, that would kinda go a bit with the theme, now that you mentioned it.
I think if this was to be a Terran v. Skrith hide and seek thingy, it'd have to be a bit tweaked somewhat. It still sounds like something that'd be pretty fun though. |

Wow, maybe this Frag and Go Seek could be a gametype for a later BW version, or even better, Project Archon! |
