I don't know if anyone suggested this, but I would really like a version of loadout where you choose in the mutator menu which five weapons each the blue and red teams have, and all members of that team spawn with those. You could set up some neat themed matches, one team has terran weapons, one has all skrith weapons, one has all redshift weapons, etc. etc.

Perhaps a more technical version (I have no idea how hard it would be to make this) would be that you can define a pool of weapons that each team can select from in the mutator menu, and then players choose which of the weapons allowed to their team they want at spawn.

Man this sounds sorta like my Skirth Vs Human gametype, but in loadout form.

Well i do like this idea, really can make you the boss of the match, allowing for some crazy gameplay!
I totally support this idea, it is needed. I'm amazed i never thought of it, since I'm so obsessed with Loadout additions.

I like the first one more, where the client or admin or just human or by popular vote gets to choose whichever weapons all teams get. But it'd be great cause say you'd have like red with redshifts guns and blue with terran guns and thats all.

Yeah, I'd be happy with the first one, but I was thinking the second might give a little bit of variety, and allow certain members of teams to specialize in certain roles.

yeah, but to me the second ones sounds like the current loadout but with limits on weapons (which is sorta something i told RS they should do).

It is like that, yes, but the difference is you could define two different pools of weapons for each team. For example, maybe somthing like this:

Red team can select:

Knife or katana
Redshift pistol or Redshift machine-pistol
Redshift shotgun, Redshift assault rifle, M353 machinegun, sniper rifle, or RPG
Frag grenades or explosive device

Blue team can select:

Skrith blades or katana
Skrith pistol or submachine gun
Double barrel shotty, Skrith rifle, M925 machinegun, railgun, or lightning gun
Incendiary grenades or mines

So each member of a team can still tailor their loadout to suit a specific team role, while still maintaining a sense of thematic exclusive outfitting.

Ah, I guess it just appeals to my love of storylines and role-playing.

A long long time ago I sugjusted something like this

it was basicly leting the server limit some weapons to some sides (so only the red team can pick the holy hand grenade and only the blue team can pick the evil bunny summoner among other weapons)

If the team weapon pool could be customized to allow a configurable amount of weapons available, the teams could select from several weapon combos to their liking, and you could also have one team have same loadout without variation, thus, incorperating both ideas into one.

I was waiting to check out the 2.0 loadout system before bumping this. It would be awesome if there was simply a second column for each weapon catagory in the loadout config; one for the red team, and one for the blue.

But how would that really work? Seems as though it'd just allow anyone do change the stuff, thus destroying the whole reason for even splitting the two teams weapons.

I don't understand what you're questioning. It would allow the server to designate different pools of weapons for each team. I've given examples above. You were telling me that you liked the idea a few posts up.

To be serious.. You like your idea more, mostly becouse it's your idea. No offence but I really don't see the difference between those two ideas, exept my is a little bit more complex. But I might be wrong.. B)

No, why do you assume that? I like my idea more because you start with a full loadout and don't have to work your way up, and advantages and disadvantages don't develop over the course of the match. Plus, the simplicity leads me to believe it would be easier to implement.
