Hello,

I've been playing the V1.6 and have been getting quite annoyed at the aiming system updates that came with it. In my opinion, I think it makes the weapons less usable, the game less arcade and therefore less enjoyable.

Just a refresher:
The new aiming system adjusts the player’s point of view and weapon’s aim relative to what the player is doing. Running, jumping, swimming has the greatest effect, rendering most weapons just about useless. Walking has a lessor effect on aiming. Standing still and crouching have the normal aim. The recoil system is still in effect, and works in conjunction with the new aiming system.

I like the hotfix, as it stops the player’s point of view from being whacked around ridiculously. I downloaded v1.6 of this mod (I had a lessor version), installed it, played two rounds and went searching for this website. After two rounds I was fed up with the mod affecting my point of view. But since the hotfix is released, I will talk no more about this.

The aiming update makes the game, in my opinion, far less enjoyable. While the hotfix is a good step, it does not stop the weapon’s aim from being distorted drastically. I hate, hate having to stop, wait two moments and then start firing, every time I want to shoot something. It makes camping seem like the only way to play, which is boring, and other players get annoyed very quickly. Assaulting a base is next to impossible, because you cannot move and fire with any accuracy whatsoever. All of the game modes require that players “are-on-the-moveâ€

ok ok ok.. v1.70 has options for all the aiming stuff..

for the most part, we made BW to not have crazy jumping style of gameplay, but not as extreme as other realism type games.. v1.70 allows u to play either way with all its options for damage, accuracy and tons of others.. so if u want more of a UT2004 style of play, 1.70 will allow it:)

Remember that the bots will be much quicker to take you down without recoil/inaccuracy settings.

It sounds like BF and CS use a cone of fire system, which is what Ballistic uses.

You act as if when you play ballistic, your the only one
affected by the aiming system, which you're not. Other players have the same limitations as you. You don't have to move, you can shoot back. You can also move to cover, then shoot back. If they implement leaning,
then maybe that option would be better. Also, some players like the more tense camping style of play. Overall, Ballistic supports a more tactical style of gameplay, and maybe if we get some dedicated Ballistic servers with people who know what they're doing it could be quite fun.

I'm not really opposed to coustomization, which is why I
bought this game in the first place, but I'm just trying
to show you why this style of play is appealing before you write it off as crap.

hey.. bots with no accuracy problems, on godlike.. OUCH.. that hit u in the head with everything real easy.. but the options are their for u to tweak.. they r not toggleable on or off, but scalable between none or double!! it allows u to tweak how u like it:)

leaning is a very high pri thing for us.. 1.8 or so will have all sorts of player movement and physics tweaks as well, allowing for tactical movement and less jumpy bots;)

I think you need to be more strategic if you remove recoil/inaccuracy for both you and bots. Like using cover more often and perhaps use leaning in the future.

But without inacuracy you wouldn't need to take cover; you could just move around.

The bots have your XYZ co-ords plus pretty damn good prediction system, so no thanks, I prefer to run for cover.

for future movements.. there will probably be an option for BW style walking speeds, sprinting, jumping stuff and so on.. then there will be new movements (hopefully) like, leaning, prone, mantling and if we think of more..hey:laugh:

Almost 1/8.5th to be more accurate. :P

The bots know where you are anywhere in a map, they just can't always reach and therefore find another target or try to shoot at you from the distance.
