I was thinking of some gore effects like Partial gibs and stuff like that. 1. If your weapon is not that powerful, and gibs, the limbs shouldn't shatter to bits. I think if there were actual disembered limb models, then it shows, "Dang, didn't kill him hard enough." Also, the disembered limbs should also make small puddles, and the limbs would fly a certain direction depending on where the limb was attacked (Head blowing off to the left if you shot at it from the right)? 2. Is it possible to have blood droplets trickle down or spray out of a certain area? For example, you shoot the head, some blood droplets fly in random directions, or blood droplets trickle down to the floor. Then, the more damage, the more droplets fly out? 3. Bursting blood: When you shoot a limb off, a blast of blood appears, as if you mashed it into a pulp. I never really noticed this in BW 2.0. There might be this already. 4. Gib the guy more! If you are not satisfied with the result of your enemy's death, why not chop him/her up a little more? For example, you can shoot the head so you behead his/her corpse, and such. 5. Disembowling: If you cut the stomach, how about making all the stuff inside fly out? Or, this could be implemented to some mashing weapon or something. 6. Falling to your death effects: When you die and/or fall off a high ledge, you will lose limbs depending on what limb hit the ground the hardest. For example, if you die, and you fall headfirst, your head gets mashed on impact. 7. Blowing up on serious impact. If you hit a hard surface really quickly, parts of you fly off. 8. Body crumpling, or nothing left of you hits. If you get hit by a REALLY fast vehicle, you blow up and nothings left of you. This means no blood puddle, no nothing, just a shower of blood, and maybe some hints of your blown up body. If you get hit by a falling/landing vehicle, you lose your head and maybe some other stuff, and your remains simply crumple to the ground. More physics related than gore. 9. Vehicle effects. If you die in a vehicle that is still intact, you either roll off and leave an impact mark where you landed, or keep in the same spot, and blood will drip off/under the vehicle. 10. Being burned doesn't make you a skeleton, but leaves you as a black fried up something. probably impossible to achieve in UT2004, but maybe in UT3. And alot of this stuff is probably unessescary (sp?). Tell me which ideas you like and which you don't. In addition to that, maybe you should make the alien and bot blood decals darker or more opaque. I took a look at them in UnrealEd and they look a lot darker than the glow-stick colors that they appear as in-game. -kylinrage

Most of these seem possible, the HaloUT mod did the last thing except it was with the link gun which end effect (alt fire) is the same as BW's flamethrower. It actually looked really good for the Elite and Grunt models. They tried gibbing after death, but DC didn't have enough time to stomp all the major net code bugs that would appear with it. Quote: 3. Is this upon bullet impact that it creates a blast of blood on the player mode, as in the limbs that are shot off? Would be cool if it would just happen it a bullet hit the guy. They sort of have that with the stump effect. |
